So after reading your proposed idea I can sum up my opinion in one word: No. A Dark Knight is a tank. It shouldn't have an entirely new set of skills because you want to DPS as that class for absolutely no reason in particular. If you want to play as a DPS job, equip that weapon. As someone else stated, the stats are distributed throughout the leveling process and are not instances depending on what you feel like doing. Change your thread's name to "Classes I want" or post in one of the many open topics and put your stupid flute healer idea in there. Your plan is to change the entire way the game is structured and muddle all of the classes into one big pile of confused roles. The dischord that would be caused by players arguing over whether a job is better as a certain role would be catastrophic, just look all ready at Tanks in strength accessories or one of the hundred topics on healer DPS. Oh and then the part where you nonchalantly add the blunt attribute in to make them rebalance like every enemy in the game. All because you want to play the flute. Get out of here with your flute.

First of all it was a fun thread and be real we all know that this will never happen. Second dont need to be rude about it last time a check this is a thread were anyone can post whatever they feel like it. Second yes I know that adding a new weapon to a job might be a bit to confusion. I do think tho that there needs to be some diversity in jobs. Would be a great idea to make me different from my fellow Astrologians.Know the question is how do they implement something like to make us different from each other. Know as for weapons yes give jobs more options. BED equips a bow so wants the differents in having it equipping a short or long bow

How does adding a flute make them rebalance the enemies for blunt? you do know MNK does blunt damage... its the only class that does blunt damage... I believe he was just thinking of another way to add a variety of weapons to classes. which SE has done with WHM and BLM... however they stopped adding wands because it was too much work balancing the role and being able to obtain both the items, while staves are easier... plus all those tanks wearing STR accessories... it will change in 3.2 once they add the materia melding to gear... according to my tanking friendput your stupid flute healer idea in there. and p.s. - all those weapons can show up in the game, for different Jobs... including the flute, perhaps as a healer. you dont like it, dont use it.![]()

We need a Dark Mage that use two magic swords and use chain and cloth armors. A real dark mage not the boring BLM.

Summoner should use Orbs like on diablo. We need fan for monks like Age of Wushu. We need skulls for BLM. Make the black mage a Necromancer please. Also I would like a tchaco for monks. The Machinist should become the gunslinger with two pistols. We need the tanker with two shields two, like that Garlean guy. The archer needs to use two crossbows and become with yellow eyes. And Alchemist should be a dps class.

Let it have it's aesthetic and let those games you cited have their's.
now would it be possible to give the old one handed weapons for the mages and give them the same treatment as ninja and monk and have them in one weapon slot. For example wands can be paired with bells and use the same main hand weapon. So u would have wands and a matching bell with it. Same could be applied with scepters and give them crystals or orbs for BLM
