    Note: I was directed to posting these on the forums though they themselves are rather lengthy and exceed the allowed limit. So I'm going to post links to the info if anyone is interested. These are all ideas I've been having and I have a lot more to come but wanted to see if anything would bite with the community. Thank you in advance to all feedback. And these are just ideas, they can be built upon, tweaked, and expanded upon to fit into the format the game offers. ^=^

    But....changing weapon already changes our abilities? Just ask for a job that uses a bo staff instead of trying to tack it onto MNK?

    Already made a topic on having each job have a secondary weapon witch changes there skills but I agree 100 percent we need diversity and that would be a great way to make me different from my fellow DRK. PEOPLE say that will limit the weapons for future jobs. But there are so many weapons out there.

    That's not the point.
    The point is that it'd make it so the existing jobs skills change based on the weapon. That doesn't happen currently. In the case of BLM and WHM changing from a staff to a wand does absolutely nothing for you. And are practically pointless after 50. And if you change weapons otherwise you end up on a whole new job. The whole point of it is a new approach to adding new skills to existing jobs without just tacking more skills ontop of existing ones and making us have to find more hotbar space. It's also a way to add even more versatility to each job since it will rework their playstyle slightly. Lol... As stated in the thing.

    Note: I also don't necessarily want MNK to use Bo Staves all listed examples were just used to display that different weapons on each job were rather simple to figure out and to display possibilities. Requesting a new job that uses a Bo staff is logical, but asking to make a whole new job in some cases could be harder than working on an existing formula. Just depends on the approach.

    Well yeah that would limit it, but theres nothing to say jobs couldn't use similar weapon types anyway. If the whole point is to have a job that plays differently who cares if it has a bow or a sword too? I mean look at FFXI, there were jobs that literally used the same set of weapons as other jobs. That didn't stop anyone from enjoying the jobs due to their playstyle.. So people who say that need to look at the big picture. We could have 3 jobs with bows and they'd all play different. Not to mention your point of there being so many weapons.

    Know bc u have the same job some skills will stay the same no matter what weapon chose. Example will be of WHM some core abilities will stay the same Example cure, cure II, cure III, will stay on the white mage no water what weapon u chose but the play style my alter example with a staff u focus on HoTS. With another weapon you still keep the cure spells but could focus on more burst healing or dps. Now with that being implement will that include to different relics for each job. And will secondary stats will be more important. For example a Whom focus on Hots may want SS as a secondary as a WhM focus on burst may want critical.

    That's such an ineffective method of combat though; it sounds so weird. How would you even reload your cross bow if you've got two? You'd have to put each down, load the bolt, and then load your other, then fight.

    I'd take just about any customization I can get, but I'm not sure giving each job a secondary weapon is the best way to go about it. For instance, MNK getting a staff or MCH getting a two-handed rifle could prevent jobs whose entire skillsets are actually tailored towards and make sense for that weapon, thereby ultimately reducing the options we have available by giving those to variants, rather than new, original developments (though in their case too we can only hope they actually feel original in design). Vindictus did a pretty good job with secondary weapons, but I can't really imagine the same amount of well-crafted difference being available to our current jobs' skills if each were given a new weapon. Most seem unlikely to change outside of that single aesthetic. "Allowing for new animations" without consciously creating different gameplay is generally developmental waste.

    That said, you mention larger revamps to the skills and class systems. What do you have in mind?

    Would also like to see built-in parsers, if only personal, possibly with a 'share' setting. In the training halls or paired with the mentor system, something that tracks ability uses over time would be great for helping to improve one's rotation. Short of that, I'd just really like to be able to see what instant cast a player used last, much like we can see party spell bars when casting. It helps often with knowing when a positional will be coming up, especially if I have the combat sounds turn down, so that I can move/turn only after it.

    Would love the "Friends Only" chat mode (or, expanded, "Acquaintances Only" - nearby says, ls's, fc, region chat when outside of cities, tells by friends, fc-mates, ls-mates, and some way to pass through this filter only when clicking 'message player' through the PF).

    Out of curiosity, would your dueling use a sort of (i)lvl sync, or no? Personally I don't see this as likely working out very well, especially due to our heal outputs relative to damage, and, inversely, the ability to near-permanently interrupt casters, but would enjoy this if it were eventually somehow enjoyably balanced.

    As for glamor-space, would you be interested in a B&S-style Wardrobe (probably just through a revision of the glamor system - permanently storing Mirages after using a prism once on them, and being (basically) freely able to swap them out in the open world after via the Mirage Prism page) or just expansions to what you can store in your inn room?
