Other than wanting to have every desynth, there really isn't much point to alts beyond visuals and aesthetics (both of which I completely get - the latter one especially). There are enough grindy achievements (craft x of y-z level, gather 5000 in this level node) that I can't imagine wanting to repeat them. For the non grindy cheevos, you're likely right, there are people who enjoy part of the experience.
Still, I think account wide would be a net gain for most players.
Insanity is a gradual process, don't rush it - Ford Prefect

You might not, but others like starting with a clean slate. If that were the case then making it account wide is pointless anyway because alts are useless.

Would be nice if they just made them re-attainable from events. Especially from something like holiday events.

No, you new player or people who not attend past event can't have it. #entitledmuch

I could see making event titles account wide or allowing them to be earned every time the event comes around.
However, to me they shouldn't be on the Mogstation. The title is like a badge saying "I was here then, I completed ____."
Sometimes I see people with titles I don't recognize and learn they were from 1.0 when I look them up. Sure it sucks that I can't get them but it must bring back memories for the people that were there. Would be pretty meaningless if everyone could grab it off the cashshop.
As an aside it's been awhile since we've gotten an event title. I guess SE wants to avoid this situation?

15$ : I bought stuff
25$ : I want to be a snowflake
35$ : blinking title with fireworks that screams : I'm a snowflake
