Dear Yoshi P and friends,

There's a lot of threads on the forums from people who aren't happy about the monthly fee. Rather than express my disagreement in the many threads that have been made, I'd prefer to take a moment and tell you why I will happily pay the monthly fee.

I define a game by how much enjoyment it gives me. The purpose of a game is to provide us with fun and laughs. This should be the one factor that decides whether or not we're happy to pay for this game. When I read that we'd be paying soon, I asked myself if I was having fun.

The answer was overwhelmingly: yes!

There's so much for me to do and so much for me to dig my claws into. Whether it's stabbing beasties with my polearm, hacking at trees with my hatchet or braving the depths of Natalan with my friends; this game has plenty for me to do!

But most importantly, everything I do, I do because it's fun.

Since taking over, you and your team have done a marvellous job turning what was a poor game into something that is now, beyond doubt, improved, enjoyable and entertaining. Thanks to your tireless efforts I can login to Eorzea when I get home from work and relax, unwind with a cold drink and play the evening away with friends, linkshell members and strangers alike.

You are more than welcome to a small amount of my income once a month. It's a small price to pay for the hours of fun you're giving me and my friends. From me, those friends, and the thousands of players who are loving every change, thanks! And long may it continue!

Secretly it's a ploy to remove all of the gawdawful trolls on this cesspool of a forum. I, for one, completely agree with this plan.

I will happily pay as well. I came back just a week or two before 1.19 to see all the changes, so perhaps that fresh perspective give me a slight advantage over some others who have been here for longer. I honestly feel that if the game had release in todays post 1.19 state, SE would never have had to stop charging and a lot more people would still play. Is the game perfect today? No, but I have never played a MMO that was perfect at release.... Not FFXI, not WoW. MMORPGs are a thing of constant change.

I completely agree. I will never mind paying a subscription for a game that I enjoy! I think right now is the perfect time to start back up subscriptions. They've announced their plan and as promised they'll start with the subscriptions again. I've got no problem with it.

We, current players, have this great opportunity to experience a game, story line, events, etc. that none of the 2.0'ers or PS3 players will ever get to experience. I for one have no problem paying for that!

I'm happy to pay also, if it helps SE fund 2.0 I'm happy to support them, agree the game is infinitely better now than before Yoshida took over.

I look forward to seeing the destruction of Old Eorzea and seeing how things change in the coming year.

I have to agree wholeheartedly. Since 1.19 hit, there are so many fun things to do in game and between now and 2.0 things can only improve. I would not want to miss the chance to take part to this ride and paying for something I enjoy will not be a burden. 6 months ago I would have refused but now I think it is appropriate, especially since the money will go into developping 2.0. Also the fee will help getting rid of most of the annoying trolls from the game and from the forums too... They will not be missed.
