Enlighten us, then. All you've done for the last two days now is make pissy little potshots at people who disagree with you. What is the correct way to use Retrogradation that is not known by anyone on Aether? There is not a single Astrologian I have talked to on Aether who looks at the dispel as anything other than the most marginal of bonuses.

Retrogradation isn't meant to be used running into groups and popping it, you're going to ofc be removing protect, etc. 1) it's good for group wide sleep/bind/heavy, removes them easy. 2) keeping an eye on enemies, when you're not healing you should be giving support with Stella/Disable/Malefics/blizz2 so if you see a SMN just pop AF and have no buffs up? Pop it.

Running into a zerg will either get you killed or spend more time healing yourself getting another party member killed. This whole fight with Retro vs. Aura Blast is stupid, they are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SKILLS.

Hey, i'll never try to argue that the defensive dispel part of Retro isn't amazing - because it is, it's the whole reason to use the ability in my opinion. I just think the offensive aspect of it is way overrated, and you're lucky if you get it as anything more than a bonus to your heal+dispel. Alex is the one trying to equate them somehow, and I have absolutely no idea what he's on to try and make that comparison with how you talk about it (and I felt in the first place???).

Hardly. I just find it funny that you act like you know everything there is to know about PvP and yet have something like that happen to you. I don't care if people see my profile? I think for queueing solo my win rate is pretty damn decent. I don't claim to be a great player by any means- although I'm willing to learn if people have the logic to back what they're saying.

I completely agree with this, though, it is dumb. I just don't care for the circlejerk going on that AST is the king of pvp healers- which is hardly the case. All three healers have their uses in SR. To me, AST is good as a pocket healer/mobility, but you start pressuring multiple party members with dps as opposed to just one and AST will not be able to keep up the heals.

If a party was only going to have a single healer, I'd prefer it be scholar above the other two due to utility that has already been described in previous posts within this thread.

If you have a look here http://www.twitch.tv/xxczx/v/36820017 you can see I removed the WARs Maim and (I think, can't make it out properly) DRGs Heavy Thrust. That right there is a 15% decrease in dmg to DRG and a 20% from WARs

I don't act like I know everything in PvP, I only started PvP in 3.0 there is A LOT I still don't know about but if there is one thing I do know about, it's the classes that I main in PvP albeit I have gone off AST and am going back WHM main when I first started. And I posted the video to laugh at myself, if I didn't find it humorous, why would I of posted it? Everyone knows I'm EU most crappy DRG

And I haven't really implied it's AST's trump card nor do I think it is. It's trumps are actually their cards, eh ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Also @ the solo healing comment, I actually prefer AST. I've solo healed a lot of 24s, even asking other healers to switch because I want more of a challenge but that's all in the matter of preference.

You got Impulse Rush, actually! That's an even better haul. I cede the point that it can be powerful in the right circumstances, but I contend that it's way more powerful in isolation - in a larger fight, they'd have garbage buffs (like e4e, regen, or medica II) that reduce your odds of hitting something primo.

A high end result like that can definitely help you survive, though, but for that particular clip I would have taken the odds for your survival regardless! Two DPS, even good ones, really isn't enough to finish off an Astrologian.

And, hey if we're linking winrates: XIVPVP has me at 57.82% lifetime, and i'm at 73% for the week :P
