Things currently wrong with frontlines that the community would like to see fixed

I want this to be a very civil discussion about what is currently wrong with frontlines, be it from a balancing standpoint, mechanical view etc etc...

    I'll start the discussion:

First off I believe GC restrictions lead to an imbalance in teams and end up having one GC dominate for months.
Also SMN and AST in pvp, instant casts from ast and the burst potential (uninteruptable) + stacking DoT's which tick pretty high from smn make these two classes a bit too much more useful than the other classes in pvp (72 man)

queues way to long... instead of first fixing the queue times they add more pvp arenas to make queues even longer *facepalm*

Queues are tolerable at certain times. For Seal Rock, Aether database seems to peak from 6pm PST to 9pm PST. Maybe 10 - 15, maybe 20 min wait. After 9pm PST its 1hr plus. I think most of the pvpers are east coast. Would explain why participation tapers off rather early. As for wolves den, its impossible outside Friday Night Fights, which starts at around 4 or so PST. Good queue times (less than 10 mins) until around 9pm as well. Seal rock queues are about 20/30 mins leading up to the FNF event.

I think it would be great if they can mark one of the datacenters as a PVP datacenter, and have all the pvpers migrate there. That would definitely reduce queue times on that PVP datacenter. Or just merge some of the worlds and have just 1 NA datacenter. I think that would help greatly.

Honestly, I think queue times should be the first thing they tackle. The second thing is marketing PVP and that involves teaching players what pvp means how to play. More specifically, a PVP intro or guide of sorts on the main FFXIV website will be great. And while they're at it, they should find a way to streamline/simpify the website and graphics. It looks too busy and confusing imo. A better website with material people can use to learn about pvp would do wonders I think.

This guide can cover basics like limit breaks in pvp, objectives of different game types, gear and item synch and what this all means, reading the map in seal rock, pvp rewards, pvp skills, pvp levels and GC, and stuff like that. Information which is kinda just spread all around. Should gather it all in one place so new players don't have to dig for the information to learn how to play.

This is what they need to do. On Shinryu, it seemed 5x more populated than Sargatanas is, and that's a legacy server.

I get about 3 or 4. Like I said, people seem to really start playing at around 6pm pst, but it dies abruptly at 9pm. I just give up after 9pm cuz queues are guaranteed to be over an hour. But on a positive note, my GC (Flames) seem to win a lot more than we lose.

I hope with seasons coming in 3.25 they will regularly update pvp (including frontlines/seal rock) with rewards to keep people interested. If this doesn't work to lower queue times, I really think they should merge aether + primal.

i would say once thing pulling from another thread

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...GGESTION-FORUM
    https://www.bluegartr.com/threads/12...tions-requests

if there is enough support for it, SE might consider a PVP server so you can beat the crap out of each other without having to queue. as long as the server isn't Hyperion i don't care.

As far as SMN goes, once they blow their load they're pretty useless for the next minute or so- and a minute can be a very long time in Frontlines...

Honestly, I've found the best way to defeat a class is to understand how it works, and take advantage of it.

AST is more of a "noob trap" than OP, imo...now if we're talking Wolves' Den, then it's just ridiculous.
