cameos in FFXIV!

Besides Cid, I really see no point to putting characters in XIV that have nothing to do with this game's universe or lore. I'd rather get to know and love new characters.

I would not want to see any specific characters from other FF games, because they do not belong in this world.... now more generic characters like the summons and Gilgamesh, or the like, that would be cool

As much as the Cloud/Sephiroth groupies would flock to the game for it..... they dont fit in this world and I would not want to see them in it, nor any other main FF characters.

I'd like to see Zack. Cloud is just a Zack rip off and no one gives him credit. I wouldn't actually want to see a character exactly like any other character in a rpg, but maybe a character named Zack or Tidus, or whatever you want, that vaguely has black or blonde hair, and who says a little joke. Make a tidus guy who basically is just self narrating his life like the wonder years and then says "oh wait what. you were listening?!". You wouldn't really say "omg LOOK that's TIDUS FROM FFX HOLY CRAP", you would click on a npc named Tidus all curious and then get a good laugh from a joke.

Make an npc named Cloud, and all he talks about is the woes of his stolen materia, but they dont' need to spend anytime making him look like cloud.


Make an npc called Cecil who is a DRK, hinting towards drk coming out (this is if when and why), but he's always back and forth about maybe he should be a pld, and make one of the pld quests trying to convert him.

Make an npc with no iconic name that is like "Oh gah I better get me arse back to work mam', my boss, she's a real whipcracker, that Quistis"


btw, i'm a III/IV (japanese numbering) fanboy I guess, not a VII one but I'd like ideas from all games.

I know with all the changes and everything going with the game, with chocos and other staples in a FF, wouldn't it be cool to see a cameo of one of your favorite FF characters, items, and situations?

And who'd you want SE to put a cameo of?

not just characters also, stuff like gunblades and chainsaw axe.


I say Lion from FFXI

I would hate this.

It's basically an admission that they don't have imagination/creativity. "Oh hi guys, my name's Lion, I am from FFXI, and I am living proof that the developers were so starved for creativity that they put me in the game as fanservice for you guys!"

They should focus more on trying to make the game good in its own right, on its own merits, instead of using (and abusing) the FF brand as a crutch.

Just my opinion.

It's also bad enough that we are getting inter-server battles, etc, which destroys the fabric of the gameworld as a single entity. Inserting characters from the wrong game would just make it more weird/stupid.
