Cash Shop - Additional Character Slots

I imagine this will be a very unpopular request, but I am one of those who players who value aesthetics above a lot else and so I only ever have one Class per character, each with their own distinctive look reflected in their physical appearances and glamours. So, naturally I am happily paying to have additional character slots, eight per server and up to forty in total.

The problem is that I have no desire to play on any other server and any characters I have there were merely tests to check appearances and voices outside of the creator since Balmung is always locked. I have used up all of my slots for the server I currently play on though I am confident that I will still want to make more in the far future, particularly so if they return to the idea of releasing Viera as race. So those thirty two extra slots are essentially going to waste since I would not settle for playing on a different server away from everything and everyone.

With that said, even if expanding the maximum allotted character slots per server(not the overall limit of forty)were not an option, I'd still readily welcome the idea of purchasing character slots beyond the initial eight directly from the cash shop if that were any more feasible, should the incentive of having another line of income prove desirable to SE.

Of course, considering you cannot log in on more than one character per account, I don't imagine that this should have any real impact on server load. As far as I can tell, the server limit only exists for the sake of existing, and to keep the UI "tidy".

Having more characters means you have more character data (inventory, achievements, quest flags), so it's not just a UI thing. You'd be using more server resources on an ongoing basis. Given the service model they've used so far, this would be a lot more likely to be implemented as an additional charge on the regular subscription - like with extra retainers - than a one-shot payment for this reason.

I'd be fine with having the option though. They already have two tiers of account with a different maximum number of characters so it wouldn't be hard to implement having more tiers.

Oh I'd be perfectly fine with that too. I just couldn't really justify paying an entire second subscription all for the sake of having what would likely only result in being one extra character slot on the same server, blatant inconveniences aside.
