Mentor System: Increase Commendations to 500

300 commendations is just way too low to gauge a player. A tank will typically receive all 3 commendations in every dungeon run regardless of their performance.

I understand why you're adding commendations to the mentor system and I applaud you for that, it's an awesome pre-requisite. But if a tank can get the minimum within 100 dungeons on their way up to L60, that player isn't necessarily performing well. I really hope that the mentor system is more about a player helping people rather than a level grind. I hope this is considered.

So you want main-dps to do (estimated) 500 runs instead of 300 so that tanks have to do ~170 instead of 100. That doesnt sound like it would hurt tanks the most.

I once got 6 of them as Blm because i took time explain many time the strat to the group after wipes

300 is pretty low, but some of the other bars are bigger. Having all three roles to 60 in addition to having run that many duty runs is a pretty decent start. I'm excited to do a mentor roulette. Plus you have to understand, alot of the roulettes and questions your gonna get asked is gonna be sub level 50. People with these qualifications are, for the most part, gonna be overqualified to answer questions on what somebody should be doing in cutter's cry.

I got more commends as a dps than as a tank. And I play tank more often. People just tend to give their honor to whoever is still here in the dungeon or made them laugh.

Sometimes you'll get a lot of commends just by being helpful too.

it is unlikely you will get 500 commendations 1-60 unless all you do is dungeons. And in that case, you should be pretty well informed of how to help a group.

I don't even have 500 since they put them in. I usually play with FC members or do the minimum. I don't really do trials either.

Commends are a broken system anyway. Most people just shove it on the healer for their challenge log. It doesn't matter how much you contribute to the party. I would bet a fair sum that almost all of my commends have come from people who were parsing to see how hard I carried. I don't know how many I have, but I doubt it's 300. Not even sure I have 100. DPS just never get them no matter what. meanwhile a healer can spam guildhests and farm 100 in an hour.

I have been playing for 6 months, and know my job really well. That said I have like 170 commendations because I'm a DPS main. Albeit a good one.
300 already takes forever if you're not a main tank/healer.

I am all for increasing the commendation count for combat mentors. A mentor is someone that has both loads of experience with the games jobs and systems as well as proof that he knows what he/she is doing. Any crummy healer or tank can garner 300 commendations while going the required amount of dungeons to apply.

Don't worry. Nobody going up to 60 will have the 1000 instances required which will also be a prerequisite for this.
