    Login button does not always work on PC

    Hi all, I'm new to the game and I did try to do a search but the closest I could find was related to PS4 and I play the game on a PC. Anyway, I'm having problems with the launcher, sometimes it works other times I'm putting in my password and one time password fine but when I click on the login screen nothing happens. I've even had to restart my PC to get it to log me in after numerous attempts and fails. I don't know whether you need my specs but they are:

    Windows 10 64 bit
    Intel Core i7-4790 CPU
    12Gig Ram
    Nvidea GTX 750 GPU

    Any help with this issue will be greatly appreciated, thanks

    Sorry to jump in on your thread, but I just want to report that I'm also running Windows 10 and also have had the exact same issue as you for the past few days. Sometimes restarting the PC, or just the launcher, will fix it. However, more often than not, no matter how much I click the login button, nothing happens. I know it's not my firewall software (FFXIV and all related software has permission to send and receive data), and I know it's not my actual login details or one time password either. Would love to get some kind of workaround solution for this as my sub just renewed the other day, but I can't access the game most of the time!

    Hi, my husband has windows 10 also and the same thing started happening to him yesterday, so it is possible that it's related to windows 10. Today because I was fed up with having to keep closing down and re-opening the launcher to try and get the game to run I just left it after logging in. I was browsing the forums and when I went back to check it had logged me in and I could select the play button. I don't know whether that will work for you or not, or whether it's a one off thing I don't know, but I guess it's worth a try?

    I actually had that happen before to me in the past as well, where I just left the login launcher in the background while I alt-tabbed to check out websites. And it automatically logged me in after a looooong time on its own lol. It's just weird though because I've had Windows 10 upgraded since last summer and the launcher worked fine up until recently. I'm guessing it's probably some new Windows 10 update that's causing this (as I can log into FFXIV right away when I fire it up on my playstation 4).

    Ah well, it's good to know I'm not the only one with this issue though - as much as it sucks lol. Here's hoping the next Windows 10 update or whatever fixes the issue for us

    I've had this problem recently as well. Could very well be that it started when I upgraded to windows 10 although I never made that connection before. Definitely seems like a bug.

    Same problem here. Windows 10 and no response when pressing the 'Log in' button at all.
    This was my solution:

    It seems to be something with the browser used for the login (wtf? yes!).

    Open the following file with your notepad.
    C:\Users\[YOU]\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\FFXIV_BOOT.cfg

    Change the following line:
    BrowserType 0

    Into:
    BrowserType 2

    Or try 1, 3, etc. For me 2 seems to work.

    I tried this, but it didn't work for me. I changed from 0 to 1, 2 & 3 but they all still had the same issue. It didn't make any difference for me whatsoever. Thank you though for posting this up It might work for others though!

    I did try the above method too and it didn't work. But I googled around a bit and found another method where you go to internet explorer, options and reset IE to default. After that, I was able to log in, but I'm not sure if it was really doing that which helped, or if I just got lucky as I usually am able to log in round about midnight my (UK) time :<

    EDIT: Just tried the Internet Explorer method above again and this workaround works for me! I tried to log in as normal, same thing happened with the login button not responding. Opened up Internet Explorer, went to internet options, advanced tab, and pressed "reset to default". After that, I restarted the launcher and the login button worked! It's a pain in the butt having to do this every time, but it seems to be working for me now :O Hope it works for you too, if you try it out later, Kelani!
