Need to download a patch and it is taking a very long time (PS4)

I played FFXIV a week or so ago and now today all of a sudden I have to reinstall the FFXIV launcher, which maybe took 30-45 minutes to complete. I thought I could start playing right away once I logged in, but it shows I need to download something that's 12777 MB. My download speed is roughly 0.10, then goes down to 0.06 to 0.04 to 0.02, and then it says "estimated time unknown" and it stops momentarily and then it picks back up to 0.06. I have every device off in my home, I've reset my internet and reset my console, but it still doesn't go any faster. My internet is wireless and I cannot reach the wired cable up to my bedroom (the router and modem are in my basement and I am on the 1st floor). I have tried over and over since 5:30AM this morning until about 11:30AM and it only made it up to 550 MB/12777 MB. It also says for ETA it is over 3000 minutes. Sometimes it says 8000 minutes remaining, sometimes it's 6000, then it just keeps going up and back down and back up again. What the heck can I do to make it go faster? And why do I need to redownload these things when I JUST PLAYED ONE WEEK AGO? I'm very frustrated.

PS: My friend played at the same time as me and he only had to download the launcher, I think. Then when he logged in, he said he can play right away.
