Certain items in the game (purple rarity, non-replica) have a small text field with a short description of the item. For example all Zeta weapons are "One of the true weapons wielded by the legendary Zodiac Braves" and an Eternity Ring is "Material proof of a spiritual bond." What would it take to get similar descriptors added to other items, so that we could learn more of their origins?
I ask because while we can infer the origins of some items (i.e. an NPC in Diadem tells us the Mistfall/Deepmist/Mistbreak items we find formerly belonged to fallen sky pirate explorers, the Orthodox Coats found in the Aery might have belonged to the knights of King Thordan I), many items we simply know nothing about.
For example the Manikin Conjurers/Marauders/Pugilists in the Fractal Continuum (known to be an Allagan museum of sorts) wear the equipment that can be found in the Labyrinth of the Ancients - does that make that equipment the standard battle gear of the Allagan automaton forces? How does that relate to the Allagan/High Allagan equipment found in the Binding Coil of Bahamut, the latter of which we can surmise are typically worn by important Allagan individuals such as Doga and Unei (or their clones).
There's also the 3rd gear set from both ARR raids that seem to be somehow out of place stylistically from their predecessors. Coil 1 gives "Allagan" equipment, Coil 2 gives "High Allagan" equipment, Coil 3 gives "Dreadwyrm" equipment. CT 1 gives "Manikin" equipment, CT 2 gives "Whatever The Hell Xande/Amon Wants Their Generals To Wear" (seriously what's with that fashion sense), and CT 3 goes straight to "Demon" equipment. Why the drastic change? Is the Dreadwyrm garb simply Allagan equipment that has been heavily corrupted by Bahamut exposure? Was the Demon equipment formerly worn by early Allagan explorers of the Void?
It'd be nice to just have some of the history behind all of this nifty gear we keep digging up.
