I'm guilty of using thundercloud proc just before shield lob hits the next group of mobs. My OCD can't handle leaving an unused thundercloud. It hurts my soul if we finish a boss or a mob group and I have thundercloud ticking away to oblivion. Dx (Firestarter I can let go, but thundercloud. Nope!) But I'm nice enough to swoosh to the tank's side and wait enough for them to get hate before I go apesh1t again.![]()
If we are talking about group pulls I tend to wait for the tank to atleast do one aoe enmity skill... On bosses though... prepull foe, he,b4b,rs - empy hitting when tank hits the boss. You know the one I'm talking about.
Pre-charge all your cooldowns before the pull and start casting your biggest AoE right as the tank starts running toward the group.
I (as PLD) usually get a shield lob off and, before one GCD has cycled, every mob I didn't touch is now making a bee line for the DPS. Then I get to hear all the complaining about me not holding hate.
This isn't a progression raid, it's DF.
Give it 3 seconds before you go ape sh*t on everything.
Sincerely,
someone who just wants to level a tank job.
But yeah did a dreadwyrm stance once or twice when stacks were about to fall off...
I see I'm not the only bard with that hobby... but then I also OT and MT a lot on bard other places...I can vouch for this.
I love pulling hate off tanks as BRD...which is why I don't feel too bad when it happens when I'm tanking. I usually get the hate right back. Also, I mean, the boss will hit them right in the face so... win/win.
reference: me I've been hit tons of times for doing this.
I usually have to throw down enmity spams in dungeons when a ninja opens up with a vulnerability stab and then blows all his cooldowns on a single target. But that's just good DPS so I don't get to upset because he/she will usually kill it by the time I'm just about to lose aggro.
Summoners are usually a big AOE hog. They tend to generate the most enmity on AOE pulls for sure, just gotta prioritize enmity before damage. As long as you hold your targets you will do fine. "Don't be that tank."
:P

I can be guilty of this. I like to start casting Fire III while the tank is getting aggro and sometimes my timing is off. But this one I had this awesome tank who caught on about halfway through the dungeon and we started playing what basically equated to Aggro Chicken. At one mob he started walking up and I started casting. He stopped and turned to look at me. I stopped and looked at the healer being all nonchalant.
As one who is "that DPS" ... as well as Heal and Tank... let me tell you.
That´s the least to worry about. As Pala, i did this all along. Shield lob, end everything goes straight line to whomever is behind me doing "that thing"... a well timed Flash get´s em all, along with circle of scorns.
A second Flash maybe if we go for AoEing the trash to fix hate and i´m fine... positive on that, the mobs usually are perfectly aligned between you and the party, facing away from the plushies...
Never a mind was changed on an internet board, no matter how good your arguments are...

To all SMN's who are complaining about losing dreadwyrm stacks in between pulls, here is the solution:
Use 3 stacks per pull. :3
EDIT: This topic was kinda the last straw, so I made this
