I'm for it. I know this is pointless in the game as it is right now, but language-specific servers also pretty much guarantee that certain NMs will not be heavily camped at certain times of the day/night, making it easier for people to get stuff from popular NMs.

    We'll take it into consideration.

I could care less about Language specific servers, If all the different societies and languages wanna go to a certain server sweet. Maybe is can bring some server wars where server compete over who beat this and how many of this awesome item this server has, I always enjoyed that in FFXI.

I absolutely love the way all the servers are now..

If they bring out language servers they may as well restrict everyone to play on their on servers.

What's the point of an English speaker to join a Global server when there will be less people who can fluently understand them, and obviously less people in general compared to Language servers?

I know I wouldn't pick a global server because they would be empty.. even though I want to play with people from other countries.

Being Australian.. the only people online when I'm online are mostly Japanese with the occasional American who is staying up late.

    @OP
I hate how people can be so ignorant of different cultures and nationalities ~ However people need to be educated to understand

When ever I come across someone who doesn't speak English (quite common :P) I always try to speak in their language with the use of my own knowledge, in game translator and if It's really necessary.. Google translator (D

** And not sure about your servers.. but I've never come across any Japanese player who hasn't wanted to talk to me.

Even through our language barrier we will manage to have fun through emotes, terrible japanese/english translations (Google) and doing Leve quests together.

A couple of days ago I partied with 3 Japanese players and one American player. It was the most fun I have had on an MMORPG for ages.

JP ONRY was mainly an issue in very early FF11, by the time aht urgan was added, I can't think of one time that I had a problem getting into JP parties, I think socially over time opinions and prejudice have changed.

Perhaps this was the case. I quit shortly after ToAU, came back a few times after but mainly stuck with my friends when I came back. I know before ToAU it was a major issue, and I remember several racist remarks from NA, EU, and JP linkshells when fighting over King Behemoth. It always seemed as though JP players felt they were better than everyone else, even at that point. Perhaps it changed after ToAU. As I've stated before, I don't have a problem with mixed servers, though I can see why people would want separate ones. I haven't had a problem in XIV at all, but that's also a difference in partying for hours on end vs a 15 minute behest.

It seems rude and selfish to me to deny another fellow XIV population a service that they feel would improve their enjoyment and playability of the game. For those who want an language only server, I'm glad that will become an option.
For those whom wish to stay international, that is also still going to be an option.

I don't see it as a racist, it's just widening the options to chose the environment which best suits your play style.
The same way other MMO's offer roleplay only servers or pvp only servers.

Such a shame that the JP's are in full support of JP only servers. I know that the majority of them really have issues playing with anyone that doesn't speak JP, but in the same respect, I have met so many kind and friendly ones, that we have actually ended up having a lot fun with.

I know that we will not see these on English speaking realms, as they would be much happier playing with their own kind, and I know myself for every 1 nice NA/EU player, there is 10 morons.

Sucks for me though, as the majority of my XP parties are during JP prime time, which is what triggered me to learn the basics of the language. Now instead of taking 10 minutes to find people online when I am, I find no one

Well morons exist worldwide, lets not fool ourselves that Europeans and Americans are any more susceptible.

Im sure you will adapt to playing with your own language player base /comfort

Not necessarily, worldless content should help with this. You many not be able to run down to Iron Lake with a party, but you'd might be able to gain SP in other activities.
Won't be quite the same thing, I understand, but at least with the worldess model those in the minority time zones won't be completely up the creek without a paddle.

I will miss all the germans and JP I know by sight and have used auto-translate with, but at the same time, they will be replaced by english-speakers, so it's not like im losing anything without gaining something at the same time.

It's good SE is still keeping the option open for global servers, for those who want to play FFXIV with players they know all over the globe.
