will the PS4 ever get a graphics upgrade like DX11 for FFXIV?

that's something else I'm wondering about, as well as 4k support for PS4 ver.

4k gaming for PS4 will never happen, hell, 4k gaming for 99% of current gaming PCs isn't going to happen.

I don't see why they can't implement shiny floors as the floor reflections are very low res and run at like, 10-15 FPS. Not sure about HBAO+ though, as it's developed by Nvidia and Nvidia has no vested interest in console gaming.

Console hardware doesn't advance like PC hardware does. The specs of the PS4 population two years from now will be identical to the specs of the PS4 population at launch. On the other hand, the PC population will be faster in the future.

If the hardware for the consoles can't handle more effects now, that won't change in the future unless some extremely significant software optimizations are made.

technically the PS4 can do DX11 but they might have to optimize it. I'm pretty sure that they need to disable "HBAO".

We will see. The PS3 games got better over time and it will be up to SE to optimize the game for PS4.

The PS4 version graphics are already optimized for PS4. PS4 doesn't use directx11 as that is a Microsoft API.
