I've seen Clemency crit me for around 9300 in party and in full strength accessories. With no STR bonus in the party, crit is around 8700-8800 and non-crit is around 5400-5500. The down side is the 3 second cast time and the fact that it eats nearly half my mana.
Nobody is "hyping" WAR though. OP asked for a comparison between WAR and DRK self-healing, but the fact is there just isn't much of a comparison. There's no other real way to put it. WAR's skillset is very strong when it comes to self-healing. DRK has decent self heals, yes, but not on the same level. It's hard to compete with a free off-GCD 8k-13k HP gain every 60 seconds. DRK's strengths lie more in the 'outright mitigation' department than they do in the 'HP recovery' department but that's not what OP asked about. The title of the thread has "DRK vs WAR" in it, I'm just the guy trying to speak for the other side. Not gonna apologize for that.
If anything this thread kind of illustrates my point. Its already almost 2 pages of people hyping WARl my message to the OP was pretty clear, and that's that good, dedicated DRKs are rare and it'd be saddening to see another one swept up on the WAR train.
I don't see anyone urging the OP to "Join the master race! Swap to warrior TODAY!" If OP would rather play DRK, then yes he should stick with DRK. I don't think anyone's refuting that, so I don't even know why this argument was started in the first place.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be over here in the Paladin corner with my crappy DPS and my 3 second cast bar.
Wrong. When you switch, your max HP pool increases but not your current HP.
