Same boat here. I've been subbed since the initial release of the game years ago. I question why I leave my sub active despite playing only when a major patch lands in hopes of something fresh. I want to support the game, however playing FFxiv just seems like a chore anymore.
Honestly as someone mentioned, try finding some games offline to play while waiting for more fun or interesting content to arise. I know ive limited mostly to beast tribe and daily roulette before jumping on Warframe or Legaia 2. No need to keep trying to burn the fuse when its worn out, take some time off our you may come to resent the game. What happens to a good amount of people I see, they burn through content so fast they grow bored.
There is nothing wrong with taking a break and playing something else, starting a new hobby etc for a bit and then returning for new content.
That's what I am doing with WoW right now. I'll play it again when the next expansion comes out. I don't hate it - I just got bored. I'm having a lot of fun with FFXIV right now but eventually I will get bored there too and take a break while I play something else.
Rotating games that release regular updates keeps things interesting when the patch rate isn't quite enough to keep you entertained. No harm in that.
Not everything has to be a huge life changing decision. Leave for a bit, come back later, no big deal - it's a game not a marriage![]()
Well the fault isn't with you and you're hardly alone on this. The fact is FFXIV content isn't as diverse as it could be and this is something SE needs to work on going forward. It's basically one "raid", two 4-man dungeons, one trial, and one mystery item every patch. At the very least I would personally change one of the 4-man dungeon into an 8-man dungeon. As for your situation, I'm not sure what content you have done and what you haven't. Might try you hand at pony farming EX trials, Relic grinding, Coil/Alex:N/VA. There is also beastman tribe quest, side story quest like Hildebrand, and sightseeing logs. Best advice is just check out all the content FFXIV has to offer since launch and do what entertains you.
It never hurts to take a break from your main character. It never hurts to take a break from whatever game you are playing, even FF XIV. I have done it plenty of times where I just didn't feel like playing an MMO that day.
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
Thank you for all the responses.
I do have a FC, but they're more social than raiders from what I know. I've found out that on tuesdays some static on Exodus put up PF to help people who wants to try Savage, so I'll take a look when I can. Also I picked up some new games for my console and I hope it can entertain me until 3.2.
Thank you again, everyone. /bow
I think for many of us, the "honeymoon" period is over. At least it's true for me. Even then, I still love the game and it's community and while I'll take breaks here and there, I'll return
Me and my friends play other games between FFXIV, since there isn't too much else for us to do until 3.2, I say either take a break or play other games as well.
Between FFXIV/Warframe and Vermintide, me and my friends have plenty to do.
I find PVP the most fun thing in the game. It's not an assured win, and it changes every time. >.> Just don't go adders.... I'm in adders, and well... ....they're not that good...
