    Rare drops

I think that this game is too dependent on crafters as far as gear goes. I understand that crafters have a more important roles then in other MMOs and that they are a full class of their own but this methods somehow lacks balance.

I think we should have more gear dropped by regular monsters. Having rare gear dropped by regular monsters just like they do in WOW and other mmos out there would ensure that there is plenty of stuff available for every level.

Right now with the introduction of the new stuff all the crafters concentrate on is the high level stuff and forget about low and mid level gear.

Regular monsters DO drop gear from time to time (I get a lot of shoes that way), and you can also get great gear through easy dungeon runs (Such as toto-rak and Shposae). My Warden's Dagger I got from Toto-Rak was killer for 5 levels in my r30's.

Yeah i got drops too but only stuff that wasn't worth using or even selling. I'm talking about Rare stuff... In WOW regular monsters can drop gear from green(rare) to Blue(very rare) and even purple(epic) .... the more rare the gear the less chances of it dropping.... it can be like only 1% but in the end doing so would make sure there is a lot more variety in the markets and that you can almost always find something to suit your needs.

I'm not trying to take away the crafter's jobs but to provide an alternative because given the option to craft low end stuff that sells for 10-20k and high end that sells for hundreds of k or millions i think 90% of crafters will always go with the high end and this is the pattern i'm seein on my server at least.

All the lower level NMs drop lots of regular, craftable equipment as well.

I also would like to see regular mobs drop stuff other than crafting mats or npc fodder every once in a while. That's an element of randomness and surprise that a lot of MMOs have, but FFXIV doesn't.

You may see a bit of a change in this, once the 'dated' recipes go away. Right now, a lot of people grind up crafting levels on stuff which has no real direct purpose; but many of these pieces will be removed, and the recipes for making actual items, much simpler.

If I can grind ALMOST as cheaply making r25 chain mail, as I could the stuff I used back then, and sell them for a good profit in the wards, I'd be much more likely to actually do so.

I would also suggest farming the mats for such items yourself and simply shouting for some crafting assistance. I get a lot of stuff made by asking nicely, and I'm always happy to help someone out if I have the ranks myself to do so.
