    Next Anima Weapon Step Suggestion

For some variety in the anima weapon quest line while still keeping production costs down (ish) by reusing existing content, I was thinking one of the next steps could be to redo the class/job quests (or at least the highlights). Here's my argument:
    • The bulk of the dialogue, code, animation, event flags, etc. is already done
    • All players can do the content at the same rate. There's no dependency on dungeon queue times, market prices, or RNG drops
    • The time it took to get to 60 on a main (especially for the 2.0 players) is long enough for some of the plot details to get fuzzy. This leaves a lot of story line quests that can be re-used for player enjoyment. For me, even by the time I get back to an alt class/job for leveling, I can't remember where the story left off and everything feels a bit disjointed
    • While I know it would be a bad idea to make advancement of the job quests dependent on getting a relic weapon, it feels odd that it doesn't tie into them

Next Anima Weapon Step Suggestion Cont'd

    (Cont'd for Char limit)
To follow up on the argument: a hypothetical way of implementing it
    • The relic weapon quest would be presented as a sort of "remembering your beginnings" theme
    • The context would be to travel back to your original guild and reminisce with the characters, similar to Minstrel's Ballad
    • As an extra little something if there's time available in the dev budget, the instanced fight scenes could be done in dungeon gear from around that level. ie if you're redoing a lvl 35 Pally job quest, the fight scene would equip you with a full set of cavalry gear (the Brayflox gear) for the duration of the instance instead of sync'd currently equipped gear. We know it's technically possible because we can already save gear presets. You'd just have to have a gear preset saved in the quest code the player wouldn't see and swap them out.
There are some issues. The new jobs would have to be a bit more creative due to not having class quests. Maybe they could just get "inspired" by reliving other, already-completed class quests?

This sounds like a good idea, but being a DRK, I don't really see any way that the "inspired" thing would work. This did give me an idea for something else though. In the journal in the inn room, it could be fun to replay instanced fights, maybe with a different class than you used the first time around.

Hmmm I like this idea a lot. But I'd go with the minstreal for it, and have them be scaled to lvl60 hehe. Basically a sort of hard mode version of them.

You can exceed the 1000 character limit by using the "edit" function. Figured I'd let you know, since everyone hates that dumb limit and it shouldn't exist in the first place.

As for your idea, I don't mind it; however, I don't think it would be grindy enough. I realize that most people hate the grind, but it is a necessary feature of the Relic weapons. Otherwise they might as well just hand them out at vendors. Unfortunately, I don't think that repeating story quest instanced fights would provide any length or challenge. If they included repeating parts of the story as a smaller part of a longer grind, then it would probably fit better.

Definitely agree the relic weapons should be "grindy", but I was more expecting it to be either an interlude step that might not change the ilvl (like one of the steps from 2.0 relic) or perhaps not even consider it a step unto itself and only be a sub-component of a step. No reason to break the ratio of input effort to output reward. Something like "do a bunch of reminiscing and maybe you'll figure out what the next turn in item is that you need".

The purpose was more to address:
a)Adding some variety into the anima weapon quests. Breaking up the grind a bit isn't ever a bad idea and keeps the workload high without feeling stale
b)To get a bit more mileage out of the already developed class/job quest content. It may not serve much for content padding but there's also a lot of reused content to give the dev team shortcuts, depending on how they want to address the difficulty thing.

And for the difficulty, the added challenge can come from:
    a)Gear swaps and/or
b)Ramping up the difficulty a la Minstrel's Ballad

PS: Thank you for the char limit tip!
