Black screen at character select, crashes after selecting character

Have been searching online for a couple hours now, "ff14 has stopped working" error

Unable to see anything except the UI after reaching the character select.
have tried updating drivers, rolling back drivers, playing with the settings, and rebooting after install, dx9 and dx 11 wont work.

Intel Core i5 3570k
Corsair 1600MHz DDR3 @ 16GB
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H Motherboard
MSI R9 390x

All drivers + bios are updated.
Just updated to windows 10 from Windows 7(first gaming rig)
Coming from laptop.

Had to copy game files from laptop because of constant "unable to install patch" error every 20 or so minutes.

Tried to edit the config files/delete them to no avail
Game is running off of second harddrive, not sure if that makes a difference.
Just checked my laptop and the game works perfectly fine.

problem resolved

Did a full reinstall of all drivers (again) and the game even though i had to baby sit it
