How much average DPS do an Astrologian's cards contribute in a raid?

    Hi everyone,

Has anyone got an approximate % of the party damage increase the Astrologian's cards contribute during a raid fight? Maybe people who parsed the same fights with and without cards?
Obviously, because of RNG and other factors, the number can vary significantly but, if possible, I would just like a rough % value in the average case so I can gauge my "true" dps a bit more quantitatively rather than saying I did x + cards.

    Thanks

    Someone already done this

But selene offer better dps increase over a period of time...because ast can go through an entire fight and not get a single balance or arrow card

But last time it was somethink really low u just have to dig through the threads to find it

If you're not drawing any balance or arrow cards in a fight, you either aren't using Draw enough, aren't taking advantage of Spread/Shuffle/Royal Road, both, or it's a fast fight. You can also manipulate your deck so that you start hard content with balance/arrow on hold with a Royal Road effect so there's really no reason why someone can't at least have the starting damage boost.

Spear, Spire, and Bole all also contribute to raid DPS in more indirect ways. Spear means faster non-GCD abilities (NIN and MCH love this), Spire is a great card to Royal Road and helpful for DPS in long fights later on, and Bole can be combined with HoTs and Shields to allow you to DPS longer.

I doubt your cards' DPS contribution is too low to appreciate.

It's a difficult question to quantify because all the cards outside of Balance and Arrow indirectly affect the DPS of their targets and/or the raid in some capacity. For Example, Bole reduces healing requirement on the tank temporarily and thus potentially increasing raid DPS via more healer DPS up time, Ewer giving higher Foe Requiem up time for magical DPS, Spear allowing specific oGCD abilities/buffs to come off CD faster, etc etc.

Quantifying these all depend on the timing of application from the AST, the fight they're participating in, and the skill level of the target (s) being affected by the card. For example, Spear might reduce the recast of Jump / Ninjutsu but the Oppessors in A1S are jumping by the time they get off the new recast, effectively nullifying the DPS contribution of Spear.

A very simple to math that is easy to quantify and also the best case scenario, but also extremely unlikely, is having expanded Balance every minute (one Royal Road + one Balance Draw) and using Celestial Opposition on said buffs every other time it occurs. This grants a raid DPS increase of approximately 2.71%.

    Math: [(1.05)*(65s) + (1.00)*(55s)] / 120s = 2.71%

One can imagine any other combination of cards would contribute less than this value outside of a few select circumstances.

Pretty much this for me. AST cards are too RNG dependent. I've gone through entire trials with no Balance cards.

Selene is like a 2% increase(would be more if raw speed affected dots). o.o Eos is about .5%.

Spear does not effect the global cooldown at all, only regular cooldowns such as blood for blood, lightspeed, internal release, etc...

It's Arrow that lowers GCD. Maybe I misunderstood your post though?

    Sorry, I meant non-globals

I did a quick comparison a bit ago on my own to see the effect.

What I came up with was basically:

6% at a reduction of 1% per minute of the encounter to a floor of 1.3%

This is in reference to a Party wide DPS increase given best case. (i.e. being able to start with Royal Balance and average RNG factors)
