Guess it depends really. If China is exclusively getting something then I think it'd be only fair if other regions gets something exclusively too.

Like America can get some hoodies or something, maybe something edgy (i wouldn't want any leather jackets to be honest.

Either SE is being generous to Chinese players by crafting an alternate New Year event for them, or they might actually be required to honor Chinese holidays by government censors. I'm not sure which.

The development of Content in the Chinese version is unlikely handled by SE. Most games that go over to China are handled by developers over there, this is why they never have recent patches and get content often out of order to how it was implemented in the worldwide version.

SE hands the assets and code over to the Chinese dev team and let's them handle putting it together. SE doesn't even design the new outfits you see in this thread it's all handled by the outsourced devs in all likelyhood. They do it this way so they don't have to deal with the bureaucracy of the Chinese government.

Im none too interested in old timey coats, unfortunately. For all the talk against the thav gear, its quite popular. Maybe there can be more lower class, basic items though to mix and match? Ishgard's got to have their own version of the everyday wear.
