I Think there is only 1 IDEAL rotation for every class and when you do that ideal to a dummy it will be king, but, when we play a content it will totally not be in an ideal situation where you can do rotation correctly. Anyway you should try the best you can to do that rotation. This will start to come to you by the classic "trial and error" or from those who have experience of the class, don't shut them up by mark them as elitist before you try what they told and you might find out you are improving. If you tried and find it worse than what you did you can discuss with them that what they did is sucks.

And if what you stubborn to do make the whole party severely set back or make them cannot do the duty right, a kick will be expected

I myself enjoy BLM as much as my SMN, and life in low level isn't as bad as SMN in low level I got so much frustrated in low level smn(acn) for doing quite low damage (DoT excluded) and got kicked for doing low damage from those not understand that damage from smn(acn) will come out from DoTs and pet quite a lot. BLM(THM) doesn't have this problem all that count for is the raw damage and it's nice!!
