Open party finder. Hit "Recruit Members". Make a group and label it 'learning party'. Wait for it to fill, queue up and go.Maybe I'm just not expressing myself in the right way then.
I want to try the actual endgame to see if it's exciting at all like I was promised by the people who convinced me to join in the first place. I have no way to get a group to do it and even find out. So I'm stuck with all this wasted time building up this character to hit that ilvl195 req for Thordan without any way to even see if it was worth it. It's depressing.
Man, that was difficult. Admittedly you may wait awhile on some servers, but if you wanna do it that badly it shouldn't be a problem for you.
And what's different than it just being in DF and doing all the listing and gathering and launching of content for you?

All the players on DF are worse than PF players any and every way possible, that seems to be the mentality on here anyway.
I guess if you're on a raiding server that may be true, but on the servers I've been on it's entirely incorrect. In most cases it's because you use DF far more, and for far more "lenient" instances like dungeons, and thus the bad experiences stick out like a sore thumb. I can tell you I've met my fair share of awful players on PF, I've had a Ninja that was doing 300 FPS in i170 gear even, I've had many, and I do mean many players who can't grasp the weather mechanics of Bismarck no matter how you explain it.
It seems that many of the "oh noes it can't be done" folks forget that DF is slightly a gamble whenever and for whatever you run it for. Some players like myself like this about it; I believe it goes a good deal of the way in keeping content more fresh. Since every run won't be the same likely and you can go from having a top notch PUG to one that struggles a bit.
The thing is for the Q'er.. we likely already know this and accept bad runs WILL happen. I rather have a bad run with folks I had held to no expectations over a group of "elites" who make every run some scripted no fun zone and then still end up failing.. I like being powerful but I won't let min/maxing ruin my simple enjoyment of just playing. Shit if you just have to try that hard I'd say EVE Online is the place for you.. cause FFXIV is like singled layered poundcake in comparison as far as difficulty to really "endgame".

Because DF takes nothing into account as far as party composition and experience, which is an important factor in progression raiding. On top of that, if you happen to get a party where you somehow make some progress you'll never get to see those players again to build on that progress/teamwork once the Duty ends, leading you back to square one.
BUT again that is how YOU see it. Like someone said, some of us dont mind to run into non experienced, non knowledgables, low geared /poorly geared people. Besides, YOU DONT HAVE to use DF if you dont want to, today we dont have that choice. Leave those that want to use DF to them and you keep doing waht you hve been doing DONT USE DF. How hard is that ?? seriously ?Because DF takes nothing into account as far as party composition and experience, which is an important factor in progression raiding. On top of that, if you happen to get a party where you somehow make some progress you'll never get to see those players again to build on that progress/teamwork once the Duty ends, leading you back to square one.
