Anyone done testing on how powerful our dots are with the new stats?

I noticed level 49 skeletons have poison 2, which drains like 120hp per 2 seconds while doing halatali quests.

I don't really know the means of how someone did the previous testing(which shows all dot damage at certain pie levels).

Anyone know if our dots do better damage now than before? they still don't look useful on anything other than very high level NMs.

they were tested on mobs that cast contagion, which transfers effects on that mob back to you outside of gridania. Thus you could case effects/dots and once they transfere it back to you, watch and see what it does.

Er... any link(s) to the test? I'm kind of curious about this myself.

Have that tests take into account player's stasts such as Magic Defense and Elemental Denfenses?

looks like dots are as useless as ever(on 99.99% of all mobs).

I put poison 2 on nest commander and waited the whole duration.

Then cast fire 2 which did 700 damage.

Fire 2 took out more of his health bar instantly than the entire poison 2 duration. Looks like it's only worth doing on mobs that take 50-100 damage from abilities.

Nest Commander also is only 36 isn't he? If dots are a static damage per tick, they could more effective on higher mobs (specifically NMs) where nuking wouldn't be MP efficient. Plus it's more or less stacking dots that you really start to notice... not just one by itself.

Its not so much the damage the dots do, its the debuffs. You can clearly see the defence reduction from Dia and the offencive debuff of Bio. Pick any battle and cast Scourge II by itself a few times. Then make a macro with Bio II, Dia II, Drown II, Frost II, and Rasp II. Then cast Scourge II. Watch the difference. You will be taking less damage due to the mobs offencive debufff, you will do more physical damage, and a whole heck of alot more umbral damage.
