Anyone can go into a dungeon, mash buttons, and call themselves good. Actually being good and knowing the ins and outs of a class well enough to tackle difficult content on it is a completely different animal altogether.
Part of mastering a job is knowing how to gear it correctly though, including getting the right secondaries for your particular job through combining raid drops and other equipment with your tome gear. The game isn't designed to let you deck out all of your classes in tome gear and have it be BiS. Actually, getting a full set of tome gear can often be pretty detrimental overall as it can overload you on stats you don't really need and leave you lacking in the ones that you do. So... yes, it basically does sound like you're asking for an "easy button" to gear every class to max item level. Item level isn't a measure of how good you are, though.
I honestly don't see any point to making the tome grind easier just because they're adding more classes. Before you reiterate that you're just asking for it to be kept the same length, that is making it easier because it lets you gear out more jobs in the same amount of time. If there's more jobs, of course it's going to take more time to gear them all out. o.O
The classes that I enjoy get all the love. Right now I have PLD at i208, WAR at i207, SCH at i206, and MNK at i204 through a combination of Eso gear, raid gear, Void Ark gear, and Thordan weapons. AST, WHM, and DRK are all i200+ because of sharing gear and some random Thordan weapon drops I've gotten while Greed farming. As for the relics, I completed one for my PLD and am about 1/3 of the way done on a second one for my SCH. It's really not all that difficult to gear multiple classes if you put your mind to it.
