Thread: Healing partner for AST - WHM or SCH?

If its diurnal AST then best would be SCH. It very helpful in raids to have a healer focused on pure healing, and one on dps, triage healing and mitigation. D.AST can be your pure healer, and SCH can be your mitigation/triage/dps healer.

D.AST and WHM will lead to a lot of overhealing via HoTs and lacking somewhat in mitigation.

You're putting yourself at a disadvantage by not having a SCH in a raid group right now. It's completely doable and has always been but SCH brings a lot to the table, is unmatched in terms of raid wide mitigation and overall complements AST's weaknesses very well. AST does not work as well with a WHM for a variety of reasons (browse the front page of the healer's forum, half the topics are AST related anyway).

That being said, 3.2 will most likely return to shared left side gear between healers so being as flexible as you can will definitely be a plus, and we don't know what job adjustments are around the corner so it might change in the coming weeks.

That's the top 3 pairings at current. So in your case, you'll want to go with #2.
