Alternatively, add more substantial rewards to the materia vendor at wolves' den pier. Throw out those status resist materia and replace it with IV + V stat materia like pirate spoil vendors offers. You say that until you need them lol. The most recent example are those 4 unidentified relic items, of which you can only buy two per cap of Eso/Poes. That's A LOT of grinding to get all 80 of them, and people who do it spend a ridiculous amount of time not playing PvP. Which brings me to my main point. You're not wrong that expanding the vendor system wouldn't be, in some ways, redundant. It most definitely is. The thing is, expanding the vendor system allows active PvP'ers to stay active without falling too far behind in PvE content. We all want to stay in the game, after all. PvP vendors should enable us to do that without feeling like we're making too big of a sacrifice in our other pursuits.

To that end, I'm totally in favour of adding a token system on top of Wolf Marks. They did it for all the Ex Primals and current Raids, so I don't see why PvP shouldn't have a similar system in place to get high end purchases. Throw in an expanded vendor selection, and we'd be good to go.

While we're on the topic and spit-balling ideas ... Another thing that I'd be interested in seeing is a gambling system of some kind, so that they could tie in Gold Saucer in some way. Feast is basically a sporting event for Eorzea anyway. Sporting events tend to fall hand in hand with gambling. It would be pretty cool if we were allowed to gamble on the outcome of matches, or if there was some sort of mini-game for a fake league, or something. That's definitely a more radical idea, though.
