So you're thinking that the "circumstances surrounding non-rated matches" means how popular they are for queues? That would make sense.
I think the general feeling among a lot of PvP'ers right now is to queue for the ranked modes, since the rewards are juicy. 8 v 8 sounds like a lot of fun, but it just doesn't have the same allure when you know you're not getting ranked for your wins. If you have a competitive streak in you, the choice is obvious. In any case, I'm happy that they will at least be monitoring the situation as time goes on. If they really plan on making game mode adjustments based on popularity of queues, we might avoid some of the problems we've had with previous game modes (optimism). They could also use that information to best decide what kind of future game-modes they should be implementing (extreme optimism).
