Please Help My Friend!

I am putting up this post as a heartfelt plea to help a friend of mine in-game who is in distress and needs some help right now. I don't known if this post will be allowed to stay because it could be viewed as an FC promo and I don't know if that is against the rules or not. But I'm doing this anyway because I really care about my friend and I do not want to lose them.

In November 2014, I was looking for a new FC and someone gave me an invite which I accepted. The character is the leader of the Exodus FC which is currently called the Revenant Wings. My friend had a vision for what they wanted the FC to be and had the assistance of some very good friends who were good at crafting and gathering and they were working together to make their dream come true. Unfortunately, near the end of the year, the friends suddenly bailed on the FC and joined with a hardcore raid FC, leaving their vision for their FC incomplete and my friend was heartbroken. As time went on, the incident ultimately resulted in the friendship coming to an end and leaving my friend in a lot of distress.

As 2015 went along, those of us who were left tried to do what we could to help my friend complete the vision for the Revenant Wings that they wanted but with our membership numbers reduced to less than a third of what they were due to the end of the friendship and the number of inactive members, our FC is has become stagnant and our attempts to recruit new members see said new members leaving the FC within a matter of hours. Now my friend is seriously contemplating transferring to another server, thus abandoning their dream and resigning themselves to heartbreak and is essentially a concession to the hardcore raid FC that took their friends away and a declaration of surrender. This is difficult to see that my friend wants to give up and abandon everything that they worked for and wanted to achieve and they may never see their vision come true.

So, I make this heartfelt plea because I want my friend to have their spirits lifted again after being left in so much sadness over the last 14 months and I can't bear to see them transfer and leave their dream in tatters. If you are on the Exodus server and don't belong to an FC or if you are looking to create an character on Exodus and are looking for an FC, please help my friend and join Revenant Wings, so that my friend's dream FC can finally be realized and that they will have friends who will stick with them and always be there for them.

Again, I don't know if this post will be allowed to stay up, but I am doing this for the sake of my friend and to help them in their time of need and I would do anything to see my friend reach their goals and not abandon them. Thank you.

While I do hope you and your friend the best, and I do hope you get members. If im reading it correctly I would personally be worried that my friend takes the game too seriously if not having members in their fc is causing him "so much sadness over the last 14 months." That to me is worrying.

Personally my FC had about 3 active members for a good portion of a year. We just got a few new friends to join a couple months ago..

Moral? Even if the numbers are low, don't see that as a failure. Tell your friend to persevere and stick with it, soon members and new friends you actually want staying around will find there way to your FC.

My guild in another MMO had only 4~9 active members, and for me, was the best guild ever.

Focus on the members you do have and their enjoyment. FCs where only numbers matter are a dime a dozen.

First of all please remember this is a game. Please dont take it so seriously that it causes anyone distress etc.

Second of all if your friend and yourself still have this clear vision and goal, then continue to pursue it. Get motivated again and give the community what you originally intended to. It doesnt matter how many members you have at the moment, recruit people and show them your drive and passion. Guilds are not about the quantity of member, but the quality.

I think if you are serious and your friend is in so much "distress" over not having enough FC members, then their problems go beyond the game and no amount of FC members can solve their problems. On the other hand, my FC has about 10 active members on at any given time and we are all pretty content with their friendship and membership and aren't in any distress bc we aren't a super huge FC. Those types of FC have no sense of community anyway, so not sure why your friend needs a FC like that to begin with.

His first step needs to be focusing on what he's already got. Get FC chat going, plan events, build morale. If you have no crafters or gatherers, start leveling them yourself. Crafting is the fastest way to build company credits.

You can have a successful FC with a handful of people. Just get them talking. The first thing people are going to notice when they join is chat and any events listed in the log in message.

After you've built morale, then you can worry about recruiting. Use the OF, PF and conservatively utilize city shouts. No one will join if you spam shout every 2 minutes, so keep that in mind. You can send tells to people you see out and about without an FC. Some people get annoyed, but its how I found my FC and I've been with the same group for over a year now.

Dead FCs can always come back, but you have to be willing to work for it and be outgoing.

Tl;dr USE FC CHAT. Seriously. People like seeing other people talking.
