Master Thaumaturge Ring

Hello All,

This is probably a dumb question - I have been awarded the Master Thaumatuge's ring for completing the required quests. I can't seem to find it in my inventory. I tracked down the NPC (Calamity Salvager) in Ul'dah but I can't seem to find it with him either. What am I doing wrong. I really want that ring!

Go to Old Gridania, and talk to Johnathas. He gives out achievement rewards if you "tell him a tale". He's by the Apkallu Falls.

And it really isn't obvious, either. I don't think it would hurt to make the achievement rewards slightly easier to find.

While I agree, I also see why it is as it is. In a way it's like finding an 'easter egg' in a game. You could be walking around exploring Gridania one day, walk up to this dude, talk to him, tell him a tail and he gives you a gift for it! Big smile, and great experience.
