This ^^^^^^^^^ seriously. What the fuck? I queued for roulette with in progress selected 20 minutes before my friend did and he got into a match before I did. How does this shit even work?? GC restrictions might not be so bad if the DF actually functioned correctly, but atm it seems to just throw people into a match by picking names from a fucking hat.
I think that DR queue for FLs instead of helping people to get "any" of the 3 possibile content make people struck on the Secure and Slaughter queue. This ^^^^^^^^^ seriously. What the fuck? Basically if when you queue for DR there is a player in queue for a Secure match, until his queue don't pop (and you will probably get that pop) you will wait for his queue helping to fill the missing spots.
The same happens for languages, actually I'm queuing for Seal Rock only and English only.
This is not a valid excuse, as an MMORPG requires constant maintenance and support. This is not something you should defend, but to each his own. This is not something that requires an insane amount of effort to fix, just like how CD timers should be reset after a wipe in raid but they never did this even though there are other instances where they do reset. Also I don't blame the development team themselves for being short staffed, as that is not their decision. I personally feel that when a community has requested a change in a flawed system for over a year in a growing game it would behoove the developers to say more than "we'll look into it".from what I have come across the money SE are getting from FFXIV is being funneled into other project (FFXV, FFVII:remake) so the size of the FFXIV team is getting smaller.
so.. From the FFXIV teams point of view, Do they work of fixing the GC restrictions on PvP to keep 20% of the community happy or work on creating new raids and dungeons to keep 80% of the community happy? and i would heavy doubt removing the GC restrictions is a simple fix since assets have to be re-done and the system has to be re-coded

I wouldn't mind. I earned most of my points through losing a buttload of times, so if I have faster queues with no gc restrictions at least I'd have a quicker chance to try again.
Adding: They could always choose the highest ranking we have on the GCs and make it just one rank type, maybe named PvP Rank or something.

I think SE cares, but they have to be careful what to promise. The response we got seems to me like they're just buying time and patience in order for them to do something with it or make an even better excuse. or at least come with a good explanation. I would accept it if they said plainly: "We want to do something about it, but our main focus is PvE as that is more popular. As of now, we don't have resources to spend on PvP in order to solve the queue issues while still making PvE content." <- which seems to be the case. They had to be a bit more detailed, but this is the gist of it It think.
GC restrictions sucks. The main reason as of why it's there, as i understand it, is to prevent match fixing. Lore is just an afterthought of that. What we end up with in stead, is people stuck in GCs that sucks while others can sail on the shoulder of PvP vets. The result is pretty much the same as match fixing.
