Honestly, much as it may annoy, paying for a retainer or two is worth doing if you intent to get involved with crafting. Not only for the inventory space, but you can send them on ventures. Four of them means they're saving you a ton of time every hour.I'm just starting to see why people are getting the additional retainers for crafting. I have a retainer full of my gear I want to use as glamour or other classes. My other one is packed full of crafting materials, but it still isn't enough space. I refuse to buy more retainers. My 15 dollar sub is enough. >->
LF more free inventory please. But oh right, "server limitations". lol.

Um...I hope I'm not ratting myself out here, but uh...I use alts. It's a pain, to be sure, but...I have 10 retainers for one character (my crafter)...and I'm not paying for a single one. I use the fc chest to trade between characters. Not sure if that helps, at least it might till SE throws us a bone on this, it is tedious as all get out without a little planning and forethought, but...there's my two cents.
Otherwise, yeah, a third retainer would go a long way.
Good idea. Just wont get those ventures.... it's still a bit of a hassle though.
You still pay an extra $3 a month to have those alts.Um...I hope I'm not ratting myself out here, but uh...I use alts. Which is better than $16 total for 8 extra retainers, and if he is legacy he isn't paying a thing.
But if you really wanna hold more on your retainers, put things up on the market for 99,999,999, that's 20 extra slots of storage per retainer
There's no listing fee to do that? By the same logic I could mail to an abandoned account and use the retrieve feature as well.

Urm...not sure that's how listing fees work, being that they charge you after the item/s are purchased, and you're putting the price so high so no one buys in the first place... Also, why would you want to buy an account for this? We're talking about saving money, not the other way around...and before you go into the whole "it's abandoned" thing, this is a thread for asking for additional free retainers, whilst discussing strategies to alleviate the problem until it's done. Using an abandoned account as a strategy would entail purchasing another account at some point, so in order to use it as a viable method, money must be spent...no bueno.
Not sure if this is some kinda troll thread or what, as the answer is pretty easy to come up with.
That right there is the only way they'll listen. Also, playing devil's advocate here, you -can- play with the retainers they've given you; its just sometimes frustrating as hell. However I've done it since ARR started, not once got an extra retainer and still held onto main glamours that I favor, mats for my most profitable crafts, and storing only the exclusive/expensive housing items when not in use. The rest either gets tossed/sold and remade later if needed. Again this is a huge pain, ofc I don't like going through it, but I'm not spending money on something that should be easy for them to fix. If everyone did this, while using these threads, I'm sure SE would eventually come around; but its clear why they are not even touching it right now.

Callback did have a good point when he said that, and it's true, the only way this problem will change is if we give them a reason to change it - by not endorsing the pay-for-retainers shtick. Sorry SE...but it is a little lame...
That said, it sounds like Sho86 has a different play style than most of us asking for this (and as much as it bugs me he thinks people are trolls for not playing like him, I'll leave it there...). Most of us who want at least an additional retainer tend to either enjoy the glamour side-game, or want to have as many mats on hand as possible, just for convenience in crafting. Your play style's fine, "Sho" enough, but some of us can't do that and still enjoy the game as much as we're trying. Hence the thread...
You said it yourself - it's a pain as it is now.
I guess I minced my words a bit, and I apologize in that regard. Playing how you want is entirely up to you (obviously), I have no problem with people paying for the max retainers (8?) or whatnot. Although the trolling part to me was asking for something to stop even though your paying for it. Either it is enough of an annoyance for you to not pay and want to make a point, or the pain is enough without the additional service where your game would be 'ruined' in manner of speaking, so you throw it in.
I made the point of calling it a pain because I highly doubt it was made by mistake to be like that. Things like these have no middle ground, and its showing people would rather not go through the extra hassle, so of course SE will continue to throw out whatever excuse they deem worthy. Again, if people feel its worthwhile, no foul on my end as its a personal choice so go nuts; just don't expect things to change or get an official response other than the typical.
