The reason I'm all over these threads is because all this talk of an auto-attack will absolutely ruin this game for me. I'll want nothing more to do with it.
In reality if it goes that way I'll fight for a refund. I didn't invest the initial money so I can wait 5 seconds between each attack.
It's the initial testers that decided the game was too slow. What it was really only mimics the speed of auto-attack. Long wait times.
They decided for good reason not to pace the game like that, it's boring.
If anything this game could use an extended queue, that would be the best balance between the play types.
Casual players can set action queues to macros
and psychos like myself can input each command at whatever rate I please.
I personally need my adrenalin rushing in a game. It's like that sort of now, though because the queue is so short and there is no visual indicator (besides the colour of the bar I'd rather not focus on) I'm forced to spam buttons (at times though not usually)

Call of Duty has ruined video games for me and other aspects of my life. I now need to do everything at an increased speed.

I can't watch TV that talks slow, Can't play games that don't grab my attention. I'm sure if I were to stop playing CoD my brain would calm down, but meh, I love the speed.

Hehe, I can see where ur coming from, but you just gotta get used to the fact that some things just wanna move slower, so u've got no choice but to be patient :P

I really like the descriptions laid out by the OP. I lol'd at the familiarity of some of them. I have progressed through a few but since I had a nintendo with gyromite at NA release when i was 6, and have been playing in spare time and during supposed school hours ever since, I'm in the True gamer category the most.

Few games have captivated me story wise, most were too fictional, which I know is the point but I'm a realist. So gameplay rules for me.

Now, since I started DDO 5 years ago (the only other MMO I've played), I enjoy min/maxing and building unique characters. The elitist part is far removed though. I like helping people and help run one of the biggest and most friendly guilds in the game.

I am in favor of games that have challenging scalable difficulty

I am in favor of games rewarding harder difficulties and giving very little to easier difficulties.

I am in favor of games that require skill or tactics

I am in favor of games that penalize people who refuse to learn how to play better

I am in favor of games that don't clutter up everything with pointless storyline (cutscene-skipping acceptable)

I am in favor of games that require pressing more than just one button

I am in favor of games that favor keyboard controls over pathetic plastic controllers

I am strongly against games that noobs have reviewed as being "awesome" and "for all gamers" when the game absolutely sucks and the only quality people have flocked to are the graphics and storyline which are both completely irrelevant for a game.
