IIRC, you can only use vote abandon once. If it keeps getting spammed, I believe it's more than one person doing it.I'm sorry, but what is this "being held hostage" crap? You have the option to leave. Sure, you'll have to find something better to do with your time for 30 minutes, which honestly is not hard.
If a full group agrees to vote abandon, that's fine. But if someone is going to keep spamming abandon, they should just suck it up and leave. And don't bother begging me to kick you from party because most likely it will not happen (with some exceptions for those who aren't dicks about it).

So you do like to "hold people hostage". Tbh, the run goes better for both if you kick. Both parties end up happier.I'm sorry, but what is this "being held hostage" crap? Vote abandon changes that might work are things like, if a majority votes yes, the Yes people get to leave, the No people can stay.
I have my on opinon that people who want to entirely do away with vote abandon likely being the weak link in their runs though.

Ahh, see if that's true, I didn't know thatThankfully I haven't been in many groups where it's happened.
haha, I'm not really. I've only done it once intentionally, and that is because the guy was a raging asshole to everyone in the party. I just feel that if people are so unhappy with a group, they need to take it upon themselves to leave vs. expecting everyone else to bend to their will.

Sorry self entitled person but you were in the minority. If people left it means it was a bad group and if it falls a part players have the right to vote abandon and try again with another group. That's what vote abandon was put in for in the first place. Re-queue again or don't play the game if you don't like it honestly. It was a solution to a problem that was in before and isn't going to be taken out.

I would like people to demonstrate some basic level of competency at their job before entering duty finder, but we can't all get what we want. I have been playing MMOs since 1997 and I have never seen a player-base as bad (in terms of skill) as this one. Thank god for vote abandon.

Tbh, I have done it a couple times, but only when I feel it wont effect the others too much and the person is just such an ass.Ahh, see if that's true, I didn't know thatThankfully I haven't been in many groups where it's happened.

Just because you're in the majority doesn't mean you can force the minority to do anything against their wills.
It's like if Republican wins the election therefore the Democrat voters must go to jail.
It's ok if people who voted abandon will be allowed to leave but those who voted no should be allowed to stay too.

Not even asking why this was brought back up nearly 2-3 weeks later....
I'll be sure to keep that all in mind, if I'm ever in a situation where I can't vote abandon. Luckily I still can because it hasn't been taken away from me to appease a minority, so it's no issue.
Lol, I'm not taking a timer for bad, lazy, or arrogant players. I won't suck it up, get used to it, or play by "your" rules. You wouldn't do it either if I shot the words at you.

To the thread topic at hand though, I don't think vote abandon should be done away with.
The reason I quoted you directly is because you kept going on about being "held hostage", which is incredibly dramatic. If you want a perfect group, play with friends and find those of like mind. If you go into DF, and you're one of the few who want to bail, eat your timer. Nomnoms!

I'd say that this right here alone, justifies keeping the system in place. Much less other reasons that are out there.

Thankfully I haven't been in many groups where it's happened.
