Au Ra lacking?

I'd love to have more customizability in general with character creation. It's something I've always thought was a tad lacking in this game. It's not exactly super limiting as it is, but it's certainly far from other MMOs in terms of personalization of your character... Sadly it seems that "server limitations™" will forever give the dev team a pass on doing anything about it.

I wish he would explain these so called memory limitations in depth or something. I seriously wonder if he thinks we are all potatoes or something. Just give us more to reason it with...

Whenever we ask for more choices they always come out with the excuse of "memory limitations", "resource limitations" etc. The character customization is lacking options for everyone not only for AuRa. I would like to see muscle options if not a slider then stages of body shape. More faces for sure 4 faces are not enough we are the attack of the clones right now with only AuRa being able to customize themselves more than the other races. They need to hold on with the hairstyles for a while and instead put those options in. I'm pretty sure the "memory limitations" etc are not the whole truth. Take for example the retainers. We've been asking for more inventory space and they refuse it because of "server memory limitations" while their memory can handle the extra paid retainers just fine.

There's incredible character customization on PSO2 for the PS4 and I am pretty sure it's not as demanding as FFXIV. Other games offer a lot more too, so I do admit being a little perplexed as to some of the limitations found in this game (in many areas). Character customization, inventory, glamour - these are things that should have the heaviest focus in an MMO as players spend so much time with them.

I made a post about character customization a while back, I went over each race and gender and what they had compared to each other in each face category.
You will notice female Au Ra is lacking greatly in almost everything. (for the males, Roegadyn is the most lacking) Compared them to Miqo'te you will see what I mean.

I think there is a limitation to how much they can add as far as individual parts (most things are linked to each other, such as ear Shape and Tail shape. Or Muscle Slider and Ear Size/Tail Size) This was probably why Au Ra Horns ended up linked to their faces, they just couldn't add anymore selections.

Personally, I'm not sure if PS3 Limitations or lack of resources are really the problem for adding things within those selections. Every Patch you see them adding more and more Hairstyle selections to the character creator but nothing else for races that need them. When you look at hairstyle selections there doesn't really seem to be a limit, this probably means they can add a lot more face types/ear shapes/tail shapes etc etc for all races.

Will we ever see them added? Probably not unless a lot of players want it. People normally want big things. For example if the devs were trying to figure out what to add for a future patch Hairstyles vs some new Noses/Jaws, Hairstyles would be the more popular Choice.

I was wondering about the hairstyles thing too!!! Like for real why does there seem to be limitless room for new hairstyles? Ugh. And another thing I noticed today that kinda bothers me besides the customization options is the poses. Like how (idk if all races are the same with poses) the poses seem to be gender locked. I want my DRK to be able to stand clutching it's sword in both hands in front of him with the point in the ground but NOOO only the girls get that cool pose. We guys have to hold ours on our shoulders like some kind of savage carrying a big stick. >_< But that's a whole other topic.

Personally, I would be fine with not foregoing a new race in 4.0 if we got a greatly expanded CC for the current races instead.

I'd love to have more facial hair options for my male Miqo'te. But, alas, I'm chalking it up to a mix of technological limitations (PS3, low end PCs, game hardware) and budget limitations.
