So..how do you change your char's pic on the lodestone? Like some people have flags and stuff in the background. I can't figure it out. >

Typically holiday events, and a few achievements. Egg hats were from Easter, Fireworks the summer "Firefall" event, marmots from Dalamud --- those should be the only ones you cannot receive.

Triple flag banner requires becoming a recruit in all three companies and setting off each company's 10 mark costing fireworks. Specialized flag requires permanently joining a company, with the company's flag in background and character performing your chosen company's salute.

You can't change your picture on the lodestone. The different backgrounds are caused by different event that happens ingame. Most of them require you to take part in it.

You don't need to set off the company fireworks to get the flag. I don't believe I've set off a firework apart from the ones to get the swimwear during Firefall Faire.

I was wondering the same thing, and now I know how to get some new angles of my character. I always thought there was some sort of screenshot you could take of them or something, ha ha ha.
