Anima Weapon - Are there any hurdles I need to know of?

Edit: Should have changed title to anima

I'm thinking of starting the anima weapon quest, I'm curious about if there are any hurdles I need to worry about.

For instance, if I can only get 1 item per week and I need 10.

If I need to do content that's nearly impossible to do with randoms.

I don't mind grinding if it's for a weapon but I would like to know if the game is going to put any invisible brick walls in front of me that completely halt my progress, especially if I need to spend ridiculous amounts of time for a weapon that probably won't be relevant by the time I'm done getting it.

Most of the Anima Quest requirements are just long grinds.

Step 1 is Atma farming 2.0. You need more crystals than the original Atma, but the drop rates are (supposedly) better. Personally, I think that's a load of crap, since I spent 10 hours and only got 1, but the length of the grind really depends on how lucky you are.

Step 2 is just a dungeon crawl. Easy. Relatively short. It can be run with pre-mades, and any dungeon below HW can be run unsyc'd. No issue there.

Step 3 is the bigger grind. You need 80 vendor sold items and a solid crap ton of crafted items. The Vendor sold items are not that bad to get. You can buy them with Tomes (poetics/Law), beast tribe tokens (if you have max rep), hunting seals, and by exchanging 10 drops of Alex NM items (which you get guaranteed every run. Each floor gives a different item.). It's boring and takes a while, but it's not bad.

The biggest "hurdle" is the crafting requirement right at the very end of step 3, and when I say "hurdle," I mean "brick wall" for most players. It's impossible to do this step alone (even if you are a crafter) because it requires specialty recipes for more crafters than you can specialize in. The items have to be HQ crafted. Getting the supplies to craft these items requires hundreds of thousands of gill or several trips into the Diadem (again, relying on RNG to give you a hand). Buying the items is far easier (and often the only option for non-crafter players), but the items you need are ridiculously expensive. Depending on how prices look on your server, or if you have a generous crafter friend, you are looking at 10+mil to finish.
