Question on anima crystal drops

I have already completed the first steps for 3 relics, now i have my ninja hit 50 today. Do the crystals still drop from fates in the zones in heavensward WITHOUT having the relic quest in your log?

Since it can only be started at 60 i would like to get a head start and manage to get the crystals while fate leveling between dungeons.
Or do i have to wait until i get ninja to 60 to pick up the quest so they drop?

They're going to be making crystal drops more frequent in like 5 weeks why even so this since u have no plan to finish all 3rd steps by then let alone one haha?

That was is no way an answer to my question.
And just so you are aware, while i continue to run the daily roulettes and such to get tomes to get the unidentified items to finish the first relic i started. So thank you again for your non relevant comment.

They're going to make it even easier later still in the expansion, so why ever do anything at all?

Just the first quest what's the name... life without soul? and you talk to the npcs about getting the stuff iirc.

No, it has to be that particular stage. There's no reason for crystals to drop after you've already handed them in.

I have the last step of the relic as BRD and another crystal step quest as SCH so I can't tell if you need to have that step to get the crystals to drop (current setup is dropping for me) but just to be safe maybe you should take it with another level 60 first, farm+level with your NIN then abandon that crystal step and retake it as NIN once you got it to level 60. I don't think you'll lose the crystals when you abandon the quest since they are stored in your inventory instead of key items.

I think its possible to start the quest over again for a job you've already done. You could start the quest again for the job you've already finished the Anima for and then gather the crystals, but save those crystals for your Ninja.
