Let's not forget that there are two kinds of testing: balance testing, and bug testing. It seems that the dev team does more of the latter, and not enough of the former.Just another example of why this game and the V2 of this game will fall flat on its face. the dev team, while ambitious, consistently releases messed up patches without ever properly testing things. the Powerleveling is still ridiculous and this is a joke. I know its easy to get around it but it shouldnt have to be. Issues like these should just not exist.
This type of server lag will most definitely cause lots of players not to pay the monthly fee.
Go crawl into a hole and burn
Although the engine sucks, and yes, the client<->server communication needs to be fixed, it is completely within the player's control to accommodate for Ifrit's abilities in a way that completely removes luck from the equation. All you need to do is count the seconds between abilities and recognize how to deal with each ability.
So what does breaking the horns do exactly? We haven't figured it out haha.
All this scares me from actually wanting to do this fight.
Worst statement about this fight you can make.
Beating Ifrit is all about doing nothing. Yes thats right.
When he is about to use a weaponskill, everyone besides the tank, must sit there and do nothing. This allows you enough time to react to anything he does and avoid it. Then you can use a WS/Buffs/Other stuff until Ifrit has his timer up to use a WS again.
Phase 2: Timer is 15s
Phase 3: Timer is 10s
Phase 4: Timer is 15s
Phase 5: Timer is 5s
(well I might be off but Phase 5 you don't even have enough time to buff + WS before you must wait... 3 buffs is all I'd attempt to lock myself before watching for Ifrit or 1 WS no buffs)
Also to note, breath and explosion can be used immediately after Voids / Plume but the next WS after them will follow this pattern.
Ifrit fight, again, is not luck. Its about doing nothing.
Standing on rocks doing nothing and waiting, all it is. Oh, and standing outside of sear range with mrd or lnc, but not for pug lol.Worst statement about this fight you can make.

i think what's terrible is the drop rate of treasure chest. we got dark matters as 80% of time.
does incap really help on drop rate? how many part of incap? or purely by luck and million of tries?
thanks for answers~
Yeah, it's just doing something different than the normal FFXIV up to now. I think people having trouble with the fight are merely having trouble adjusting to doing something different than "MAX DPS ALL THE TIME".
@Blair: Doesn't seem to do anything. We average 1 weapon per 8 people it seems. We've had 3 times with 0 drops, 1 time with 3, 2-3 times with 2, and most with 1.
