Marriage Roulette

Hello all,

I am playing this game with my significant other.

Seems this game is leaning towards Soloers.

I am not talking about always asking our friends to unite at the same available time than us, which can vary.

Question: Would the DEV mind to install either:

Roulettes that we can Duo?

or a 'Marriage' roulette for those that are bond together?

That would make our day, because it's really frustrating to play side-by-side and then having to enter our Daily Roulette.. separately except for lvl 50, 60 and Expert.

The leveling and Main Scenario, Guildhest and Trial would be very nice to login together.

There's plenty of free space for others to join us.

Remember, I'm not talking about creating my own party on PF or to select specific dungeons.

The Roulette is what drives us with our limited time to play each day or so.

As well: When will you open up the Grand Companies so that we can play with mercenaries, or to get rid of excessive stuff to exchange for seals?

EDIT: After reading all the post in here, some bitter, some welcoming: I find it weird that as an MMO, we are doing the Main Scenario quest, alone.

I accept it, but doesn't mean I like it. Would be awesome to do it with FC comrades, Friends, anyone..

So to move forward, I want the DEVs to look at it this way: DUO Roulette, or enabling all roulettes to be done with a partner.

Could be a friend, someone in LS, or someone posting on Party Finder that he would like help to complete X Instance.

So we could make a party of 2, and then go, and perhaps being joined by another party of two, then 2 people helping 2 others.

For those that answered that Roulettes are there to help others, hence why you go in solo-mode: I don't know about you, but in our case, most of the time when we go into leveling roulette, there's baraly 1 new member at any time, which means that 4 lvl 60 could be joined together. Where's the 'HELP' in that? I ask you ^^

I would like to see this feature in, but only for 8 player content roulettes.

So a system where you can sign up for Trial Roulette/Frontline Roulette/Main Scenario Roulette with the person you are eternally bonded with. Can't do it with anyone else, has to be someone you are eternally bonded with.

I don't think it's that bad to be 2 people playing together with a group of 8 randoms if they are eternally bonded characters.

Ty, and yeah we are all for anything new, new way to do roulettes, 8-man roulettes, I just want SE to do something! ^^ Nice Suggestion.

I may get some flack, but I really dislike people who *must* play with a specific person for everything. You're a far worse player for doing that, not in a community sense but a personal sense. Playing with randoms teaches adaptation and gets you used to having to think on your feet.

Met far too many who say they're an amazing healer/tank...but only with their tank/healer partner; anyone else and they become a complete noob at their role.

There's also something unhealthy about always needing to play with a specific person, so much that not being with them causes distress.

Tank/healer married couples are oh so common.
It hurts me because I'm a tank and my wife is a healer... but like, we know what we're doing. But my words are worthless now! ORZ

Same here. I main healer and my hubby mains tank. I know my role and can heal others and my hubby can tank with other healers just fine. We just enjoy spending time together and doing runs together. He has limited play time due to work and it would be nice if we could run the roulettes together.

As much as I appreciate the sentiments of this idea, from a design standpoint is just wouldn't work. The DF is specifically for filling instances for people who need the content in order to progress with people who will play with them. The most efficient way to do this is if everyone queued solo, because combinatorics. Of course, not everyone is going to queue solo so we need to makes sure at least some of the community is or else it would destroy queue times. The way to incentive solo play is that the roulette, with its bonuses, requires solo play. Allowing people to "duo" queue into roulettes breaks this and it would really mess with queue times. Generally I think it would raise the mean and the variance of the wait time. Not good.

Level 50/60 people need to re-run content for gear...they need to be matched with people too. Even if they didn't, anecdotal experience beats mathematical combinatorics how exactly?

This would make vote kick abuse even worse since it only takes 1 person actually voting yes in a kick for it to go through, not counting the initiator of course. So no thanks.

While it's a little annoying when me and my sister are leveling and we can't do certain roulettes together...I also tend to play solo quite a bit and given only allowing some roulettes is for queue management, in the long run I think it's still a good idea.

For every every person that has a few buddies lined up to queue with, I bet there are probabaly 10 times more solo players.

If you're leveling your 1st class, then just queue solo. If you have end game level characters...then currently you can do 50, 60, experts, normal alex and void arc together.
