Give us the FFVI Ultima Weapon that looks like a Lightsaber!

If my memories correct Star Ocean had "Beam Saber" like weapons in all their games & all of those games are owned by Square-enix (only cause they at 1st were Square/Square-soft) so they don't have to as long as it ant 1) named after anything else that exsists that ant theirs & 2) ant a perfect in-game duplicate of said item, might even get away with it if they use some diff name anyway... but yes after having to fight the B rank Omni I have just looked at SE & gone "but why can't we get one of those?"

I'm not even sure lightsaber is a copyright. At any rate, many companies have gotten away with lightsaberish weapons.

Gundam has it
Everquest has it
D&D likely has it
There's plenty, only small question is would it be confused for that ascian killing thing.

Please keep in mind that just adding a lightsaber weapon to the game would involve lots and lots and LOTS of discussions with Disney, the current holders of all rights to the entire Star Wars franchise.

I doubt it, WoW has had "lightsabre like" weapons for years and I seriously doubt they paid Lucasfilm and/or Disney any royalties (Hell, one is a weapon only availabale in the gnome starting area!).

You can make Lightsabre like weapons all you want...you just can't call them Lightsabres or make any reference to Star Wars.

Don't forget Super Smash Bros that has a Beam Sword in every game, yet we know what the inspiration came from.
