I would consider both dances for both genders to choose from a pretty big win win

    Aw rude!

Why do u need to have gender locked things? Does it bother you that irl boys can do everything girls can do and vice versa so you need that pointless restriction ingame??
Since so many ppl are 'the sundrop is based of a real dance' why does this bother so many to let everyone do everything like actually irl??
Do you have any contributing suggestions and arguments yourself or did you just came on here to be sarcastic and insulting?

i was poking fun at that being an excuse because its pure speculation it based on a traditional dance.

and if you see the other thread you would learn that its not the stance i complained about its the animations. BUT when this was first proposed everyone wanted the male 1, no female one was showed or mentioned, and just because trhere is slight inspirations DOES NOT mean games need to follow through 100% they can make up their own traditions and lore based on insiration.

so i think people citing real life need to get over it as the dance is made up, it isn't a spesific dance.

the prrof i was asking for as well was an official statement by Devs saying "the sundrop dance is based on the haka" and other proof being the EXACT dance. People keep citing real life, but offer no real proof outide BAD youtube videos.

thing is if you look closely the vanu doing it to pc doing it look completely different. the vanu knees are bent slightly where as the OP shot the femake looked like a barbie doll stop motion, you can clearly see the foot movements on the female vanu where you can't really tell on a pc character.

Other differences the female arms are slanted out pc arms stick straight up.

also the vanu female doing it looks more fluid the pc looks more jerky.

instead of telling people to get over it how about actually consider what is really being said. And what fans were requesting.

The female version is on the left side of the picture and is not bending their knees. The vanu on the right side has bent knees.

The female Vanu has bent knees as well, but hers are bent forward whereas the males version is bent sideways which makes it (the dance) look more obvious and more powerful.

no offence but.............. -_-; joo blind

I also took dance growing up and know you want your knees slightly bent for more fluid motions. Vanu female the legs are together knees are bents lightly to allow more fluid steps. where males legs are seperated and they are more squatting, this makes the bend look more noticable.

PC characters are straight legged so the movements look more jerky.

Kind of yes and kind of no? Their leg structure is completely different from ours. They always have bent knees, because they stand digitigrade (on their feet-talons).
The problem here is that when you're mimicking the movements of an animal (such as in Long Fist Kung Fu), you will need to make changes to your own human stance in order to attain that animal's stance. Tiger movements have your knees bent both because it's a good idea (hard to kick your knees backward and break them) and because it makes you lower to the ground like the proportionally shorter legs of the tiger naturally are, allowing our front-bending legs to create the same crouching, ready-to-pounce position that they have.

Which was kind of just ignored here. So in effect, we're doing a real-life dance that our character has never seen, instead of the vanu-vanu dance that they teach us.

That really doesn't look like bent knees. Also, it looks like bird joints, I'll take a look in game later, when I care enough to give a damn.(apologizes to people who want this so badly. I would like some things I can't have too, so I know the feeling.)

The gif posted in this thread is really jerky, and not accurate. The female bird is doing the exact dance that we get as a player. Only looks different as you are comparing a giant bird with a completely different model to that of humanoid characters.

Better gif for you all to compare (from original thread ages ago).
