The female version is on the left side of the picture and is not bending their knees. The vanu on the right side has bent knees.

The female Vanu has bent knees as well, but hers are bent forward whereas the males version is bent sideways which makes it (the dance) look more obvious and more powerful.

no offence but.............. -_-; joo blind

I also took dance growing up and know you want your knees slightly bent for more fluid motions. Vanu female the legs are together knees are bents lightly to allow more fluid steps. where males legs are seperated and they are more squatting, this makes the bend look more noticable.

PC characters are straight legged so the movements look more jerky.

That really doesn't look like bent knees. Also, it looks like bird joints, I'll take a look in game later, when I care enough to give a damn.(apologizes to people who want this so badly. I would like some things I can't have too, so I know the feeling.)

Kind of yes and kind of no? Their leg structure is completely different from ours. They always have bent knees, because they stand digitigrade (on their feet-talons).
The problem here is that when you're mimicking the movements of an animal (such as in Long Fist Kung Fu), you will need to make changes to your own human stance in order to attain that animal's stance. Tiger movements have your knees bent both because it's a good idea (hard to kick your knees backward and break them) and because it makes you lower to the ground like the proportionally shorter legs of the tiger naturally are, allowing our front-bending legs to create the same crouching, ready-to-pounce position that they have.

Which was kind of just ignored here. So in effect, we're doing a real-life dance that our character has never seen, instead of the vanu-vanu dance that they teach us.

Other differences the female arms are slanted out pc arms stick straight up.

also the vanu female doing it looks more fluid the pc looks more jerky.
    @ thread

instead of telling people to get over it how about actually consider what is really being said. And what fans were requesting.
The gif posted in this thread is really jerky, and not accurate. The female bird is doing the exact dance that we get as a player. Only looks different as you are comparing a giant bird with a completely different model to that of humanoid characters.

Better gif for you all to compare (from original thread ages ago).

    Terrible analogy.

The child logic you're referring to is when they want something from someone for free.

This is a business transaction. People are allowed to voice what they'd like from the product. If they can't get it then it's up to them if it's still worth the price. SE can't please everyone, so some will get listened to some won't

Hell, they don't have to give females the male dance, but the way how the dance is right now doesn't do it's real life version any justice. I know it's purely an aesthetic choice, but this really ruins the dance for female PCs.
i don't know anything about the dance but i know this... DAMN your game looks AWESOME!

Actually, I'm pretty sure the animations for the Vanu are not the exact same as the ones for the player characters. I know they're not for the male version because when you stand there with the Vanu dancers it looks different. So I assume it would be no different for the female characters.

What's really wrong with it is that it seems to be more "cutesy" than fierce. Particularly the Miqote in the gif above, it's like "Aww look at her she's trying to be all badass isn't she adorable?" which isn't really what the dance is supposed to be about.
