The man looks like he is looking for the bathroom.
    The woman is directing traffic.

They're both ridiculous, but the female version is *dull*. I don't have to be wrong or right to express that opinion; I don't even have to respect the source of the dance to state this, either. I don't like it, I wish they hadn't done it this way, and I'd like it changed.

And I reeeeally find the 'certain stuff for certain gender' uniquely strange and really don't understand this at all. Why is a game where females can only do stuff x and males only stuff y full of life and vigor while a game where females and males can do both x&y if they choose a grey cubicle simulator? Why would mix and match as you please be boring? I find such restrictions kinda obsolete since irl both genders can do pretty much anything and it makes the world the opposite of a grey cubicle.
In the case I understood it wrong: it's not about give everyone the same thing. It's about give everyone both so they can choose.
I'm all for both dances for both genders

So it DOES bother you the oppostite of your gender CAN actually do what yours can irl - why is that? And why do you need a gender identity in a game? You look at your char and BOOM you know it's female. You wont get a gender identity crisis when you're able to do a weapon idle stance that was restricted to dudes.

Also rather intersting what your definition of 'whiner' and 'getting pissy' is
Nobody is saying THIS is a pressing issue that needs so be changed asap - it's a thing that we'd like to have changed sometime - giving feedback is a thing, you know?
Also no need to be sarcastic and rude since we are trying to have a mature conversation here?? If u had a bad day maybe don't go on the forums with that attitude and drink a nice cup of tea instead

I'd also like to suggest taking the "Devs should work on something else" statements and use them to make your own threads (in fact unless your a dev member you have no say in the matter). If you don't like general Discussion threads then why are you even here? (not just saying it to wolfe)

An entire thread of people missing the point.

There are 2 animations. 1 looks like shit. Nobody asked to get the non-shit version given to everyone, they just use it to compare quality. I agree it looks like shit.

What people want is for the shit version to be polished to stop looking like shit. The female dance is currently made of soft lazy movements. The positions don't matter, the movements just aren't forceful. Polishing the animation to add more power and intention behind the movements is all people want.

I know I would be upset if my version of a thing wasn't up to the quality standards of the version someone else got.

Some people I suppose, but this is my stance too. Female dance just looks pretty bad. Pretty much like "ho hum I am bored and apathetic as hell" dance, which is nothing at all like a strong tribal dance. Can't say I'm upset. I just won't use it. Am disappointed though at the missed opportunity.

The female haka is far more intense than the female sundrop dance.

I don't think many of them would accept it for an answer even then.

It really is a case of "if someone tells you no, just keep asking/demanding/stomping your feet and pouting - and makes sure to use lots of strong-sounding terminology, and a healthy dose of hyperbole if necessary, to make it sound like it totally is a really big deal - because people totally don't see through that".

It really does boil down to people getting angry because they can't have something they want. They're being told "No", and the part of their brain that tells them "I should have what I want, because I want it, and no one can tell me no" can't accept that.

In a word: Entitlement. And no, I don't care "how often that word is used". It's a valid word, that perfectly defines the behavior of people in this game, around this situation, and many others. If the shoe fits...

Does that mean there has been an official response? Please link it if it does.

My opinion: the female dance looks lame. My character is a warrior (and a pretty important one at that) she's taken down some of Eorzea's biggest and baddest and this is the best she can do? She showed more passion chasing off the 'peeping toms' in Forgotten Springs.
The Vanu quests have her supposedly showing the Vanu how to be fierce and intimidating but she just looks bored and rather silly.

I'd certainly like to see the animations changed.

I like how people are basically saying to an entire culture, "Your culture is sexist and wrong." How racist can you be. The Maori people have danced it in this particular way with gender differences for a reason. How dare you tell them they should "equalize" the dances for whatever reasons. It's their culture and it was simply adapted per their customs (Male and Female dances differently) onto Vanu Vanu who are inspired by Maori culture. Stop being racist against Maori and their customs.

And I find that being able to costumize your grey cubicle with the same tools as anybody else to be the true display of one's uniqueness and imagination. There is no value or entertainment in in rarity and exclusivity. It is the most lazy and boring method to make something stand out.

Good and bad songs are made from the same note, good and bad paintings are made with the same colours... you get the idea.

No, and at no point do I imply otherwise.

I'm describing a very common behavior exhibited by people who believe them wanting something is all the reason anyone should need to give it to them, and they refuse to give up 'til they get it, nothing more. Don't read so deeply into things, you end up finding what isn't actually there .
