This would make a lot of sense tbh. I also believe if people are so tied to jobs needing to be tied to their city state, Samurai's could be a Gyr Abania elite soldier, a bit like how PLD like you mentioned is basically an elite Ul'dah guard. (?) Although no one has agreed with me on that point D: Because NIN and SAM need to be tied together I guess.

Well the only Samurai in game are the ones in the Heavensturn event. They are from the far east. According to Yoshie-P, Othard is the far east on Hydaelin. So yeah Samurai are definitely from Othard.

Stop thinking on Othard. We are not going to go to that place is a very long time, if thats what happens.
You would prefere to wait until we go to that place to taht Samurai is unlocked? I'm sorry to tell you that the mayority if not almost everything is going to be on dissagreement with you.

Both arguments of Katana and Shippuu have sence and are very solid.
Could very well be a Otharian/Doman trainer who end up on Gyr Arbaria, Mor dhona, etc and wants to teach the samurai skills. If ends to be on one of the new areas of the exansion, could be anything. Most likely perhaps beacuse he wants to help the resistance and doesnt want to see the ala mhigans suffer the same consecuences Doma did? Who knows...

honestly, i prefer after we do have complete access to eorzea, that we take direction for the empire continent more than orthard.

Honestly, I think we might get 2 DPS as that is where we have gaps in our gear distribution. Every main stat modifier has 3 Jobs associated with it, with the exception of STR and INT which has 2 each. (PIE doesn't count) In the boring logical world I see Samurai being a STR based DPS which wears the same armor as DRG. And the RDM or DNC class being an INT based DPS class that wears Caster armor.

This is however a farcry from where I want to see the classes...

Samurai - Melee DPS that focuses on slow Heavy Hit combos (one cut one kill mentality) make them the BLM/MCH of melee DPS.

RDM or DNC (personally I'd like to see Dancer with whips)- Hybrid Class that can dance between a Healer and a Tank. It would pay homage to the elements of both classes that everyone really fell in love with, which was their sorta Omni tool utility. Something that I think would be lost if you just slap the DPS tag on them and call it a day.

people tend to forget an important point Ala Mhigo is under occupation by the empire, everything link to them tradition was destroyed while the invasion...
then don't expect to have the town a place before a moment, we go in direction of ala mhigo, it don't means it will be a normal town directly.
