While I am a bit sad and more than a little upset that we got the generic "We have no plans for it at this time" answer, I'll do what Luxpheras said and offer my suggestions. Granted, I DO think that with the current restrictions with memory allocation space and the existing programing framework, if we want this to happen in the short term, we have to be willing to either sacrifice a glamor slot or do as Luxpheras said, give suggestions so the devs can make head pieces that fit the demand. BUT given enough time and demand, I do think the dev team should be able to find a way to make a "Face gear slot" and maybe even bring back the waist gear slot.
So going with the first option - an alternative option: A bit ago, some one mentioned making glasses for the ear slot. I like this suggestion as resources for this idea are already present (the actual models, etc). To take this idea a bit further, Maybe make alternate versions of glasses so that there is one set of glasses that 'head slot gear' and another version that are 'ear slot gear'. This way we have the option of have both a hat/ head piece equip with a pair of glasses, but at the cost of seeing earrings. And while I can't speak for everyone, I'd rather be able to have glasses/ eye wear and hats on at the same time than earrings (I don't think we even see the earrings most of the time unless we looking straight at another player form close up).
Second, but less prefered option, tell the devs the kind of combinations we want:
- My biggest with is a top hat that can be worn by any class or Job with a monocle.
- Second, is a top hat that can be worn by any class or Job with a mask like the one on the harlequin hat.
- Pair up the Elegant Rimless Glasses with cavalier hats, wedge hats, and fedoras
- Pair up monocles with Wedge hats
- Pair up Goggles with the fedoras, flat caps, and scarves.
- Pair up sunglasses and shades with scarves
- And for the sake of all that is decent devs, PLEASE be careful on what gets dyed! I would personally prefer that the glasses are the primary thing that changes color (and may the hear gear's trim if it has it), but if both the glasses and head gear are dyed, it would likely look overwhelming.
Thanks for reading and I hope to see a follow up to the responses in this thread in the (relatively near) future.
