    Random Theori/ramble (allag/mhach/ala mhigo)

This is my first post, be gentle.

I realized something today. That allag, mhach and Ala Mhigo are all connected.

The names even hint at this:

    Allag Mhachi

    Ala Mhigo

Now, this isnt a baseless theori. Here some facts.

Now in Heavensward, all highlanders with voice actors got a Scottish/irish accent.

Some bosses in the void ark are based on Irish Mythologi.

The Void ark is from Mhach

There are also a couple of highlander statues in the void ark.

Gyr towers exist in the ark.

    Highlanders are from Gyr Abania

Ala Mhigo is in Gyr Abania.

    Speculation/rambling

As far as i know the ultima weapon was of allagan origin and was found in Ala Mhigo.
Therefore we can conclude that the city /or place was important to the allag.

What if some Mhachi survivers found a place Concentrated with so much aether that they used it to fight better, faster. founded a city with better military. and abandoning void magic.

Maybe only deciphering a small part of the ruins, Ala, calling themselves Ala mhach - Ala Mhigo.

For the source of said power would be the heart of sabik. Ultima weapons core. buried in the ground til' the garleans digged it up.

I suppose it's possible that the Mhachi reached as far as Ala Mhigo; although we know that their capitol was in the Yafaem Saltmoor just NW of Mor Dhona.

We know that through the Eras people eventually bastardized the spelling/ pronunciation of many things: Bahamut = Dalamud, Azys Lla = Ayatlan (by the Ixal) and I always believed that Ala Mhigo was originally called Allag ___.

Though as it stands, we don't have too much info connecting the Mhachi with the Allagan; however, if Garleans were able to unlock the mysteries of the Allag, surely one of the 3 Magi cities could have done similar?

Yafaem Saltmoor isn't too far from Mor Dhona and both the Allag and Mhachi are familiar with Voidsent, destructive magic and the most powerful Black Mages can casually summon Meteors. An ancient magic that was also attributed with the Allagans (that was the point of Project meteor in 1.0)

Good point with Mhach and destruction.

What was Ala Mhigos deity? Rhalgr. The god of destructions. His symbol is a meteor. He is depicted as a magi carrying a bronze staff.

why would a military nation of lancers and monks revere a mage?
could rhalgr be another example of the twelves symbols changing over time? (menphina shows two moons)
Maybe all the mages of Mhach made the Void Ark while the rest saw them as wielders of destructive powers, then over time the idea slowly turned to into myth. to rhalgr.

no? and who says that Mhach didnt have Rhalgr as their deity? The Nyms have Oschon as their deity.

I'm not saing that Ala Mhigo didnt have Rhalgr. but boh them and Mhach could have the same god. Also yes seeing the statue of 2 highlanders on the voidark, is more or less evidence that Mhach has not only lalafells lol

The Mhachs that stayed on the groud were probably the ones who didnt believe on the ideas of that mage who was against the war ( look Noah's tale, more or less the same )

    Then there is Cait Sith. From the minion description;

The clockwork rendition of an enigmatic cat spirit from the pages of Midlander mythology, Goldsmiths' Guild guildmaster Serendipity crafted this lifelike figurine to bring joy to those children who were orphaned in the Calamity.
Interestingly, the cat spirit we've now met, is from Midlander mythology...

Ultimately, Rhalgr the Destroyer best fit early Ala Mhigan culture the best. Prior to Ala Mhigo uniting as a kingdom, the Highlanders were all warring tribes hell-bent on fighting each other. Even as a nation they fought off numerous invasions and even attempted to conquer the rest of Eorzea. The Fist of Rhalgr were known for their destructive martial arts.

Note how each city state culture fit their respective patron Deity. So while Ala Mhigo may not have been a city full of mages, they were a city full of fighters.

Just to correct you, the Ala Mhigan accent seems to be more Yorkshire than Scotland/Ireland.

I don't see a strong connection between Ala Mhigo and the Mhachi to be honest. Ignoring the distance involved Ala Mhigo really lacks any real cultural connection to what we have seen of Mhachi particularly when you consider that we know Ul'dah's people descend from the Mhachi.

The Cait Sith thing could be a call back to Mhach but Ala Mhigo is predominantly Highlander and we know Midlanders have had strong ties to Ul'dah, who we know descend from the Mhachi, even having a Midlander dynasty ruling the sultanate before now.

As for the Allag, to be honest everywhere in Eorzea would have ties to the Allag in one degree or another. They conquered everything. The fact that the Allag had Shinobi makes me suspect even Doma has Allag influences.

Having said that, my theories in relation to Rowena is that she has a particular interest in the Allag for some reason, the reason she collects so many tomestones. More than just making money she is looking for something specific. I might be wrong but I was under the impression that her and Gerolt were both from Ala Mhigo originally. Perhaps her interest in Allag knowledge is tied to something back in Ala Mhigo.
