Macro/Skill bars should be saved server side.

I hated this until they changed it in FFXI, but there's no reason why my macros and skill bars SHOULDN'T be saved server side. It's the number 1 reason I haven't purchased another Heavensward for my PC. I really don't want to sit for over an hour trying to set everything up perfectly on every single class. It sucks and I'm sick of doing it. Fix this. There's no reason not to.

You can actually transfer your macros and skill bar layout. There are a few configuration files you can copy and paste over to a new installation.

That only for transferring between PS4s not PS4 to PC cause the files are encrypted that only PS4s can read.

And there's no way to switch between, say, PS4 and PS3 and back either.

It's something they should really look into. A unified hotbar save system would thrill lots of people.

I agree, I switch between a laptop and PC regularly, and this is one of the most aggravating thing about it. Sure you can export and import UI config, but that changes everything. My laptop needs different settings from my PC (not only UI but also different sound/video/character settings), so it's a completely nonviable option. I need the macros, gear sets, and hotbars saved but not all the other settings.

Then only copy over the gearset.dat, hotbar.dat marco.dat files instead of the whole folder.

This would really help me too. I just don't ever bother playing anywhere else because keeping hotbars and gear sets up to date is too annoying, and I'm sure not paying for expansions for any other platform. We don't need real time syncing, just a server sync option on the login screen and we're good. I would even pay extra for this feature, especially as I've lost and had to recreate all of my sets for PS4 once in the past when my character file corrupted (don't ever log out right after switching jobs, it's the worst feeling in the world the next time you try to log in).

Ironically I can't even backup using PS+ as my PS+ is on the wrong PSN account because of SE's bizarre insistence that each account be locked to a specific PSN ID for a specific region, despite this not helping at all when my account gets locked out every time my dynamic IP updates. My sanity would greatly appreciate cross-platform server syncing of all character settings.
