God this thread is full of dumb. People who say SE doesn't need our money, do not understand how a business works, SE pays over 1million dollars for 250 workers combined salary, if FFXIV was its own company it would be operating at a loss, and not for any good reasons like other business do. XIV isn't its own company but instead its a portion of SE, even though SE makes money off of rpgs, eidos games, and such, it would like XIV to pay for itself. At this rate its not, its costing them more and more, the rest of SE shouldn't have to take the fall for the game. That's typically not the way gaming studios the size of SE operate, if SWTOR sucks, the rest of EA mainly made up by EA sports shouldn't take the fall for it, they should of been able to make enough money as an mmo to take care of operating costs, salaries for devs and such which is techincally operating costs, but I don't know how smart people are on the forums, the mmo should also make a profit for them after this.

XIV can't take care of its own operating cost, XIV can't pay the salaries for the people who work on it. XIV can't make a profit. To make a profit they will need to charge for the game. The worst part is they didn't charge this first year or make any money, so now they have to make 2.0 with no revenue being generated for this game outside of what people bought the game for. Most people playing right now bought the game for under $25 bucks (i bought CE for 80 so don't talk to me). (now SE prob got close to full wholesale price for all xiv copies, if you bought yours for cheap, the person/place you bought it from probably took a loss.)

Those of you asking SE to continue to fix the game without willing to pay for the game must not know much about how business/accounting in general is conducted. And aside from that get rid of your gimme gimme attitude before you enter the real world, people hate that entitled attitude.
